Would Gary Connolly not have been a better choice? He clearly was a top class full-back before his move to centre.

Good call, but he is still known more as a centre.

I did consider Steve Prescott and David Lyon (who I thought was very under rated) also Austin Rhodes.

Lyon was a very competant full back, but IIRC Prescott took his chance when he was injured.

In terms of giving the speccies their money's worth, Prescott is one of the best I've seen. Very classy full back.
