Quote: JLM23 "Dominated to the extent of being 14-0 at half time? Give me a break! Wigan were better the 1st half, we were better the 2nd half that's the way the game went. We only scored when they were down to 12 men, to say we dominated a game like that is just plain crazy.
As for Grand Final, thats a matter of opinion and something that we could argue about all night. There are certainly many elements of this Wigan team that people would have to admit are stronger than teams that have won the Grand Final!'"
Spot on JLM. I seriously doubt there have been many better wingers (as a pair) than Roberts and Richards, or many better back rows than Mossop, Tomkins, O'Loughlin et al. The thing is, the real strength of this side is how they play as a
team. To look at individual players and say "so and so was better than him" is a completely short-sighted way to assess the strength of this squad. I can also say that very few teams have had a better goal line defense (or defense in general for that matter!) than what we have shown in certain games this season. It's a sobering fact that out of the last 9 times our line has been breached, only 3 have resulted in tries. Now that is some goal line defense!
