| The only issue for Saints is that you are now a team in transition !!
your club made a bad statememnt to the fans when they brought back Fozz, as good a player as he is , he most definately is not a statement for the future is he!!
when the grounds firm up you will again show your class as you are no doubt a champion team but booing them will not make them play any better !!
Think what FC have been through this last two years !! too may old players, issues inside the squad, etc etc but the fans never gave up on them
Learn the lesson , back them dont slaughter them

| Quote Tony Stark="Tony Stark"Pish, we have plenty of leaders out there, and the organisation will come.'"
That is part of the problem IMO.
Besides the lack of front rowers, which is evidently going to be a problem again (we have strengthened with Fozzard, but the fact that he is now our no. 2 prop when four years ago he was a better player and was our no. 5 says a lot), we are suffering from trying to share out the organisational responsibilities. As a result we are one of the most indecisive (and as a result ineffectual) teams on the last tackle that I've ever seen. This isn't just down to Long leaving; we were exactly the same last year. I'd like to see the stats, but I suspect we force fewer drop outs than most teams in SL, which is criminal given the personnel we have. As a result, we never get repeat sets, and we never build sustained pressure. We have to start from square one every time we get possession, which is why we get so little opportunity to play attacking rugby.
Perhaps the problem is that our most influential and respected player is at dummy half, and so can't dictate the play once the ball has left the ruck. Either way, we need to give total responsibility to one player on the last tackle, and it should be Eastmond.

| Quote JLM23="JLM23"Potter commented in mid week that Roby or Moore could cover stand off if needed. So when Gardner was injured, why not move Pryce (A guy who has played internationally on the Wing!) to cover, and play Moore or Roby at stand off.'"
Don't see the problem with this. Roby did a fine job on the wing and, given that we had three hookers in the 17, it was the least disruptive response to Gardner injury.

I'd agree with most of what you say but i think our back row is one of the worst in super league. Wilkin, flannery, clough, ashurst and dixon are not good enough.

Ashurst and Dixon are kids.
Wilkin, Clough and Flannery are all good enough (although whether Flannery is worth an overseas quota spot is another question), the problem is they are all too similar. We need some beef in the back row, which should come from Puletua IMO. However, that won't happen because we're still short in the front row. Soliola is the other option.

| We have no 'off the cuff' play now and seem incapable of anything innovative or different. If Potter had been in charge of the 'Wide to West' game it would be known as 'Up the Middle with Maurie'.

For me tony p has to play prop. When he's giving the freedom of playing back row he goes missing. At prop he gives us good go forward.
Sia should be moved to 2nd row to add some beef and power to our 2nd row. Wheeler then can add some attack and pace outwide.
I agree ashurst and dixon are kids but IMO will not make super league level.
