I'm not seeking to be pedantic but it says "special" farewell game.

Given my earlier comments I wonder if the Club have in mind a special farewell game which might not actually be the last game as such or indeed a special end of season extra - both scenarios would be disappointing IMHO.

Indeed, and one of my favourite memories will be us winning the Super League against Warrington in 96, a game that had celebration wrtitten all over it. Although it will be great to have a new stadium, and great praise must go to the chairman and chief exec, KR will always hold special memories for me, particularly goinng there as a little boy with my dad, with a wooden box so I could see over the wall in the family enclosure. Unfortuantely, my dad didn't live to see the new ground, but I know he would have approved as well.

Abit of news posted on the 606, dont know if there is any truth behind it, just thought i would pass it on. Quote: 606 "Saints have employed the same architect / designer as the one who designed Llanelli's Parc y Scarlet stadium, (not sure about the builder) It will be a mirror image of the Scarlets stadium only with a larger capacity, 18k instead of 14k. The 2 stands that run the length of the pitch are all seated and are curved to enhance spectator views. the two stands behind the sticks are standing only. Even tho the roof is continuous around the ground (covering the corners) the corner positions will not be open initially, these will be open when expansion is necassary, as stated in a previous thread of mine, future proof. Building work starts in March 2010 and has a build time of 60 weeks, if it goes over this time period then penalties are paid to Saints by the builder and vice versa if it's complete ahead of schedule, builder reckons 52 week completion build. So with the RFL arranging the fixtures at the beginning of 2010 season to be played all away from home then our 1st 'HOME' game is scheduled around May 2010. Can't wait.
