Is it any wonder young players fade out when they get expectations like that put on their shoulders.

You get the odd exception Farrell, Sculthorpe, Edwards etc.

Noble has said about Tomkins that he is a very good player but don't put him in the Universe team yet.

Cut these young players some slack, they need time to develop.

I challenge you to go five posts without mentioning his name.

Before calling my post, why not read it? I spoke about consistent [ipresence[/i. I fully acknowledged his skill and decision making, etc, etc, would take time.

having just re read your origianl post.................i come to the same conclusion.

Stevie wonder could tell he was a good player.
The point you make is he spent 75 mins in the shadows, and needs to be pivitol in his position.

Stop trying to be mr.cleverdick and post something either positive or negative and not have a fence post stuck up your backside.

Of course we would like him to be running the show for the full 80, in truth name me a player that has done that every game they have ever played.

The fact is even in another 5 years he wont be running the full 80 in every game, but he will no longer be a "prospect" maybe even then he will have earned your approval!
The interesting thing for me is if the lad keeps it going until longy comes back and gets better, does longy walk straight back into the team?

If he had the presence of Tomkins on the field, and Tomkins is the same age and with just as much first grade experience, then I wouldn't be saying anything. I just think he needs a more consistent presence. It isn't my fault if you don't know the difference between presence and skills.

What presence? We only noticed Tomkins because wigan dont have anyone else to give the ball to, and what exactly did tomkins do with the ball, apart from look dangerous in broken play and put a kick through? Eastmond did just as much, even though we had the likes of Pryce and Cunningham to control things. Eastmond, on a few occasions, nearly put one of our players through a gap and would have made a few breaks if it wasnt for some last ditch ankle tackling.

Tomkins wasnt as good in the game as everyone is claiming and i certainly wouldnt swap him for Tomkins, not in a million years

And i challenge about a dozen people on here to read one of RG's posts and not a) bite to one his obviously baited hooks, or b) ignore the fact that he does occasionally post some serious & interesting points and not flip into yet another Saints v Wigan flop contest.

I was saying same thing earlier in the thread!

IMO Kyle has made more of a impact then we thought he would.
