| Very happy. To be honest, during the game I thought, due to their go forward in mid field and intense goal line defencelooked betterfor the win but watching it back they had very few chances where they looked like scoring.
Eastmond's a gem, anyone who says he's not an organiser or just feeds of the teams momentum (any more than any other half back) is deluding themselves. He's and out and out first receiver and if anything we're suffering because we're trying to take the pressure off him - they're trying to share the kicking duties out to help him, but all it seems to be doing is making us look clueless on the last tackle.
The kids - take a bow the lot of you. Clough, Dixon, Ashurst, Emmitt, Mossop, Prescott, Flanaghan as well as the star Eastmond and the Tomkins bros. They've all played their part in a great, tough (how many heads we're split tonight?) proper derby match. The new quota restrictions and salary cap regs have shown we can produce kids that are just as good as the aussie journeymen and kolpak stiff that have flooded our ranks of late - and it really makes me smile when derby day is a bunch of 'tellins lads vs a bunch of pie eaters (even if half of them are from warringon).
For me, Emmit looks good enough to take a bench prop spot more regulary, rather than taking all 2nd rowers and pushing clough and tony p up.

When he last played, I compared him to where Bryn is now. Last night I was more convinced. If he develops beyond Bryn, he'll be a superb prop for us for a good few seasons.

| I see Wigan were using the old tactics of kicking the ball dead to gain some territory.

| Quote: St pete "saints last tackle play this year is worst I've ever seen from any team.
I'd love to see the stat for us getting caught with the ball on 6th tackle.
I'd also love to see the stat for trys off kicks against us. I bet it's around 60% of trys we let in are off kicks.
Our wingers have real problems on kicks. And IMO ade is going backwards. He looks slow, stops when he takes it up, can't beat a man.'"
I HATE to say it but we have to give credit to Wigan for a lot of our failings. Their defence was awesome and with that they put a lot of pressure on the kickers (aided a bit by the ref who let them off-side all night) but a great effort in defence from them.
