I know Saddened has had his say on the expansion of the play-offs, and it's hard to disagree with him. I loved it at first but I really think that games like last night's are worthless in the current circumstances. I know we will more often than not ape whatever the Aussies do but for a side to be able to finish as low as eighth yet hit a winning streak (or more likely be coached to come into form) at the end of the season makes SL into a glorified cup competition. No harm in a cup comp but I want a league that shows who has been able to cope best over six or seven different months.
I'm sure there will be Leeds fans who attribute this to us finishing top yet not winning the GF the last two years but I can only say that that is not a factor, believe it or not.

The game was boring because Celtic couldn't threaten us, not because of the format of SL.
