Quote: Rogues Gallery "He was so good his club coach wanted rid of him
He was so good the Engalnd and GB coaches didn't want him.
But he was too good for the coaches or he was always injured.
In best Alan Sugar mode.
"You're fired"
He was a good club journeyman, no more no less.
Another Parry Gordon.'"
I am wetting myself at how stupid Rogues is looking in this post. Truth is, he tries to disguise his Wigan bias in a number of ways that Alistair Campbell would relish, but the crap always rises to the top.
Particularly humour-some is the 'well, his
club coach wanted rid of him'.... Ahem, was this the same coach who wanted to replace Keiron Cunningham with Richard Pachniuk?
I know it is churlish to mention that this same coach also wanted to bring such big hitters as Martin Moana to KR, but excuse me for digressing.
Tommy Martyn had the gifts that is so lacking in our modern day half backs. That RG mentions Danny the crab, and 10 minute Harris in the same catagory of Harris is astounding.
And yet, I suppose this is what comes of dilligently subscribing to the prevailing Noble-esque philosophy of 5 drives and a kick.
Something that will come naturally to old cherry and white eyes over the lump who can never bring himself to utter the herecy that his magical Wigan team have long been on the wane, and the Red Vee - where Martyn was especially instrumental - has eclipsed them in SL.
