Gidley has already told his team mates and the club he is going home at the end of the season. You would like to think his wage will be paying for Soliola. With Cayless going to, who you would imagine would be on a fair whack, given his status when we signed him, we should have sizeable cap space to sign another top drawer prop. Then we also have Longs wage, which will also be sizeable that we could probably put to better use.

Nothing has happened since the Fox News article (published in November) which said Lyon was due to sign a new deal with Manly.
If he was "poised" to sign why hasn't he done so by now? The reality is there are other players coming off contract with Manly such as Anthony Watmough and Adam Cutherbertson who they are also desperate to keep hold of as well. Manly have been struggling for a while to keep players under their salary cap.

He may well end up signing another deal with Manly or another club and until he does the rumour mill will just run and run.
