| My two pence as a neutral looking in.
I think firstly your squad isn't as good as some of you think, and when I was looking at some of the predictions before the game and the way some were putting Salford down it surprised me a little, because they are not a bad side.
Owens, Vea, Tasi, Richards, Wilkin (these days), LMS. Imo none of them are good enough for the standard you want to be at. I dont rate Fages either tbh, but I have seldom seen him play behind a strong pack, so I'll give him botd. You also lack a bit of size in the backs. Makinson, Swift and Percival are all good players, but lightweight, there's no one there to come in and take work off the forwards with a strong carry. All the other good teams have at least one big combative back who makes yards, wins penalties and generally makes a nuisance of himself. That's something you lack imo.
Last night was primarily an attitude problem, but I do think your style is over reliant on Roby. He is probably the best player in the league, but last night it was as if you had no plan b for him not being there. It was like you expected a kid to make his debut, out of position, and play just like one of the best hookers in the world does. Instead you got slow service to a bunch of guys who seemed to be stood still most of the time.
It all seemed like a perfect storm. Complacency (maybe an eye on next week), no Roby, strange team selections, and, credit where its due, a Salford team that had a point to prove and played really well. I would imagine that will be the worst performance of your season, but all the same KC has to be on borrowed time, he is taking you alarmingly backwards.

| Reading through most Saints fans post it seems we only won because of how poorly Saints played?? Sounds very arrogant to me. We have the best coach in SL we have the best fitness coach and a very good young coach in Watson. We have also built a TEAM, we don't have the massive names but we have some players who will have big names come the end of this season, Rob Lui and Dobson would walk into the Saints team, as would Evalds, Murdoch-Masila, we have some very good players and I think a lot of people are underestimating this current squad. We also had 3 important players missing last night in Sau Vidot and Hauraki. We definitely need to kick on from last night but I can only see this squad getting better as the 9 new recruits all bed in. We smashed Wigan in a pre season friendly and a lot of people were arrogant about that mentioning how it wasn't a full strength wigan side, hopefully people will carry on underestimating us all season.

I don't think the saints fans are saying that, we are not giving Salford a lot of mention because we,ve got a few days of slating our own players who where not in the same ball park as Salford, our club have high standard playing expectations and last nights performance was well below par.
On the salford team it now looks a better balanced side all playing for one another instead of the team of "misfits" you've had in the past years, the team needs to gain more confidence and consistency. It looks promising for your side and barring injuries should manage the top 8 if not better.
KC Quote "There's no excuses and I don't want to take the polish off Salford. They played the perfect game which is credit to them and their coaches. They did a superb job."

I love Rugby League fans, one good game and they are suddenly world beaters.
What is the highlighted statement based on?
Last week those players mentioned (BMM exempt) looked poor and your great coach(s) got out coached by Lee Radford.
It as a good win last night, but dont get too carried away (Just like I aren't as a Hull fan, despite the good win last week) making big claims like the ones above.
FWIW it's worth I though Salford played well, but Saints were poor (as bad as I have seen them and would have been beat by every club in SL last night, although maybe not by as much).
Funny what a different a week makes in RL.

Don't jump the gun mate, you got smashed by a Hull FC side who were also fielding 6 new signings the week before. Best fitness coach? The FC forwards were leaving yours on the floor time and time again.

| [iSpeaking as a Salford fan ignore that pillock masturbating because we won a game for once. Yes Saints were poor Salford played well and it wasn't a dazzling world class display either by us there's still more to come from us. Now i haven't come on here to gloat but i think that Saint's recruitment this year is nothing short of abysmal. Once i heard that you signed Theo Fages and Jack Owens i knew straight away you're on the demise. Having watched Theo come through the ranks at Salford i have always stated he was over-rated. I know Fages wasn't to blame last night but the more he plays halfback the poorer Saints will become. His kicking game is poor, he bounces off tackles his reading of the game is evasive, he lacks creativity for a half, if the Frog is going to make it, it'll be at Nine it won't be halfback. Lama Tasi for us was marvellous and i think he'll come good in time. Realistically Burns should be way ahead of Fages in the pecking order. I just hope next time we play Saints Fages is playing.[/i

| If he bounces of tackles then at least he is attempting them. Last night Walsh was running away from tackles.

Well said. Your players were far better than ours last night. They looked bigger, stronger, faster and far more committed.

Ignore that pillock? Really why because I said sheens is the best coach in the league? Please name me a better one? We also do have by far the best conditioning coach as well and Watson is a good young coach?? And if that wasn't dazzling I think you are being a bit unrealistic to say more to come, I very much doubt we will beat another top club like saints by such a score line In a long long time let alone this season you sound like the pillock mate
