Quote Judder Man="Judder Man"For me he is just outside the 17 team, he does however attract over zealous criticism. We are still a relatively young team and we still need some "old heads" in there with experience to give the team some composure.
The natural expectation from some fans might be to bring Hewitt into the side with having no half backs, but that could be pressure damaging as he would be much better playing alongside a Walsh or Burns.
Wilkin has lot of responsibilty at the moment, so another old head will help him out. I,m sure KC sees it this way, its a sticking plaster option until we or if we get the Walsh/Burns partnership everyone wants to see.
Wellens reads the game well and gets into scoring postions, I,ll be chuffed once he scores that 200th try I hope other fans are the same.'"
I'd love him to hit the 200 mark too btw. I see your point on Hewitt but sometimes being thrown in the deep end can be the making of someone. Using Wellens in the halves for me is just tantamount to saying sod it were just going to play a forwards game and smash teams up the middle, for all his qualities as a captain, bloke and experienced rugby player he is never a halfback and just doesn't offer us the link with the 3/4.
