Best - Leopard, Doncaster & Adelphi, Hull. The Adelphi is probably the biggest poo hole I've seen gigs in, but it somehow has a great, old-fashioned ambience. Clitheroe Grand isn't bad either on a 'next size up' scale of things.
Worst - Anywhere that holds over five or six hundred.

I'd suggest an obvious neglect of H&S and gig capacity, in probably ten years of doing the Cockpit I've never felt uncomfortable. |

Seen many bands there over the years ranging from local bands, cover bands (such as Limehouse Lizzy) to bands like the Groundhogs.
I believe Funeral For A Friend are lined up to play there. |

Not really a fan of Arena-type venue's.
Sheffield Corporation would be a favourite of mine. Used to regularly go to and enjoy the original Bradford Rio's in the 90's.
