| I went to see British Sea Power in Feb and they were supported by 'The DSM -IV'. I've got Yo La Tengo in Manchester at the end of the month, and 'The Wedding Present' in Liverpool at the beginning of may. Then 'Half Man Half Biscuit' at the Ritz in Manchester at the end of November. Darren Hayman (ex Hefner) is playing up in Manchester around june/july-ish, id love to go and see him as well.

| Oh I forgot to say I went to watch Mozzer in leeds as well. He was very good, but The DSM IV and British Sea Power in Liverpool has been the best so far.

| Almost forgot about this thread ...
Alice Cooper in Leeds last November.
The third time I'd seen Alice but to see him reunited this time with former bandmates Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway and Neal Smith for a few classics was an absolute joy.
Nita Strauss is well worth seeing too!

| Taken in a couple of tribute bands recently;
Limehouse Lizzy at the Leopard in Doncaster (13 April).
Always a pleasure to see this tribute to the music of Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy.
The Illegal Eagles at the Doncaster Dome (20 April).
I don't particularly consider myself a fan of the Eagles but have to say after taking a few numbers to warm to it, this was one hell of a decent show. Six very talented musicians, five of which take on lead vocals at varying times. For anyone who remotely likes the Eagles, this is a band well worth seeking out.

| The Breeders in Leeds tonight - long time fan, and I know they've still got it; should be a treat. Also got Lucius in Dublin in September, and Jack White in Hull at the new venue in October - a very neat squaring of that particular circle, because I discovered Lucius when they supported Jack White at the Leeds Arena a couple of years ago - they're an outstanding live act.
Did anyone bite their tongue and fork out the exorbitant ticket prices for the upcoming Arctic Monkeys tour? I didn't on principle, and having heard the new material, I'm glad I made that choice - it's bloody awful.

| Volbeat in Manchester this evening.
Been wanting to see them again since they supported Alter Bridge.

| Roy Wood (and his Rock n Roll Band) at Warrington Parr Hall last night.
All the classics were served up ...
California Man, I Can Hear The Grass Grow, Fire Brigade, Flowers In The Rain & Blackberry Way (The Move).
Ball Park Incident, Are You Ready To Rock, Angel Fingers, See My Baby Jive and of course, I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday (Wizzard).
Very enjoyable.

| Forgot to mention ...
Andy Scott's Sweet at the Parr Hall, Warrington on December 21.
All of the Sweet's hits and as long as you accept only one of the original four members, still an excellent show.

| A fantastic evening at Leeds Brudenell yesterday with three excellent bands. I'm a big fan of Stone Broken but was equally impressed with Hollowstar and Those Damn Crows. They all deserve whatever success comes their way.

| Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators supported by Phil Campbell and the B*stard Sons at the Dome, Doncaster last night.
Phil Campbell - Great cover of Motorhead's Born To Raise Hell and a couple of decent songs of their own ... but ... plenty of bands doing this sort of stuff. Unfortunately, missed Freak Show due to the long queues to get in.
Slash - Fantastic to see the legend that is Saul Hudson. Myles Kennedy much, much better than when fronting Alter Bridge at Leeds Arena in December 2016. Great set, the highlights for me being Boulevard of Broken Hearts, You're A Lie and Anastasia.
Not sure what the venue capacity is for a standing gig but it did seem over-subscribed.
