Shinedown last Thursday evening at the Sheffield O2 Academy.

Loved the album Amaryllis (as well as their earlier stuff) and thought they were awesome in February at the Leeds O2 but it just didn't feel the same this time.

Only found out after the event that they'd had flu before and during so I'll have to take account of that.

I note that Halestorm (who supported in February) have got the support slot with BFMV when they return in March 2013.

Journey and Whitesnake, plus special guests Thunder, are set to appear onstage together for the first time ever in May 2013, taking in eight dates across the UK.

Went to see Muse at Manchester Arena last week. Absolutely brilliant gig. I have wanted to see them for ages and they lived up to every expectation.

Little Angels and Skin are at the Ritz in Manchester in Dec.

Little Angels had quite a cult following in the late 90's.

Skin were probably one of my favourite bands too. Great live.

Got Stone Roses tickets for Finsbury Park next June. Also got tickets for The Buzzcocks at Welly in Hull.

Saw both in the 90's at a range of venues large and small ... Loved both .... Skin were incredibly underrated.

I remember reading, some years ago, that Little Angels were the most diverse British rock group since Queen and still I laugh at that even 20 years on. Whitesnake - interesting.

I see that Status Quo are back together for a few dates next Spring too which will be very interesting to see.

Got all sorts of gigs lined up over the next six months:

Feeder, The Vaccines, The Courteeners, The Black Keys & Maccabees, Jake Bugg, Biffy Clyro, The Stone Roses & Primal Scream, and Kings of Leon so far. All very commercial I know but especially looking forward to Feeder who I have never seen despite going to three festivals where they have been on the bill only to pull out.

Went to see the Gaslight Anthem last month at the Apollo, second time I've seen them and they were quality again.

Off to see the Killers next week and then off to the usual XFM Winter Wonderland gig in December too.
