Welcome return after a 5 year hiatus. Another beautiful transition record. Each release takes a step forward from the previous. Some really good nods to Zeppelin and the Boss too! Highly recommended.
An album of contrasts, some funk/soul inspired songs similar to his previous couple of albums, some edgier/experimental stuff which he would continue with on his later albums. Reading the background information Bowie was clearly a tortured soul when he recorded this.
