Hip Hop for me died sometime ago, for me artists like Eric B and Rakim, Public Enemy, KRS 1, Dana Dane etc were pioneers and visionary leaders imo.

They're all still releasing music with the exception of Dane.

Sorry Charlie Sheen but i learned all about Funk via 1970's Blaxploitation movies such as Superfly, Across 110th Street, Foxy Brown, Coffy, The Mack, Truck Turner, Dolemite and many more, didn't need no Rap or Hip Hop to turn me on to Curtis Mayfield, Bobby Womack or Willie Hutch

With people saying Hip hop has died I disagree. It certainly isn't my first choice of genre but with people like Jhest and Doom coming from britain the future is bright with great lyrics
