Apologies for bringing this to your attention so late in the series but I hope with the wonders of catch up tv you can go back and watch the entire series before the season finale next week.

It's wonderfully dark and gitty. A very simple story wonderfully told about a criminal family in Naples and their battles with other families. Ciro for me is the star - I can't wait to see how it plays out in the season finale next week.

Up until a few weeks ago I was thinking that I preferred Romanzo Criminale but the way the story has evolved over the last few weeks this could be better.

Going to watch episode 9 tonight. Absolutely superb TV and I can't wait to see in which direction it goes next. Already know something I shouldn't through reading the thread but I wanted to mention it on here anyway.

As I'm sure you are aware they start filming Season 2 next month and it will air August/September time.

I watched the last of this over Xmas - enjoyable stuff, in a grim, depressing, reportage kind of way - they certainly don't try to glamorise the Mafia like some tv or film depictions.

I still didn't master Italian by the way, so I'll be watching season 2, if only for that reason.

So (like Romanzo Criminale?) this is a TV series based on a cinema film?

What channel? If it's Sky, no chance!

Yes this was on Sky Atlantic and still is available 'on demand' for those of you still to view this masterpiece.

I have not seen the film yet but they both share the same title and location where it is set.

Season 2 starts 10th May on Sky Atlantic
