| Quote ="LeedsLurch"Very quite on here for a rumours thread.
Other than those stating the obvious in that we need props, the club are rubbish and do everything wrong comments there is very little in the way of actual rumours. The odd NRL name popping up now and then, mostly wishfull thinking like RCG. Nothing to even get us salivatiing like we had with Croft last year. The best I have seen elswhere is Cleary coming to SL to be with his GF who apparently is coming to play football. Now that is a proper rumour
'"
When Arthur said they were using this week for review at the post match press conference I don’t think he was referring to the 80 mins at Craven Park. Ever since then it's as if the entire club as been locked in the changing room. Not a word from the club or its close media sources: no email from Garry, no update from Blease, no real end of season obituary from Peter Smith. It's like there's an omerta. I can only hope that the board and senior management have finally concluded that enough is enough, and when those locked doors finally open there is a concrete plan in place. Then again, it could be that Garry has deleted his template and JJB's crack IT squad can't recover it from the server.

| Quote ="Loiner at large"Nsemba signed a new 6 year contract presumably a significant upgrade so Wigan may need to sell to ease cap pressure. Agree with Arthur in that a squad is the sum of its parts. Byrne may be down the pecking order at Wigan but on this year's form he's better than any of our props bar Oledski! Could do a job at Leeds in the way Harrison who we passed on has done at Wire'"
Yes I believe he was desperate to stay with us but the maverick coach for only he knows didn't like tall players "Walters" another case, Harrison was a local lad with great pedigree but he saw more in Goudemand and Sangria you know the rest.

James Harrison? The one that played a few games on Loan for us in 2020? Signed for Warrington in 2022?
You’re blaming Rohan Smith for ‘letting him go’?

| Wasn't personally linking it to RS but he's an example of the type of player that fills out a squad in a salary cap sport.Played in 80% of Warringtons games this year averaging 90m per game which is far better than our props bar Oledski. Leeds seem obsessed with projects they think may be the next Walmsley etc when actually every successful team need some hardworking squad men to counter balance the stars. Back in the day Carl Ablett probably in that category for the goldens.

Hindsight is wonderful though.
If we had signed Harrison from Fev in 2020 which is four years ago he would have been a ‘project’ signing.
Our issue isn’t hard working professionals it’s the ‘ stars’ you mention that were missing.

| I think part of Rohan Smith's thing was that he could spot something in players that nobody else could. He went out to the championship and lower SL clubs to build the squad, and came back with Sangare, Goudemand, Warren, Hudson, Roberts, McDonnell, Olpherts and Ruan. Literally only McDonnell has worked out as a SL regular so far, and he is hardly amongst the elite of the competition.
I don't think there was a single poster on here, or anyone I spoke to in person who was satisfied with our front row going into this season, or with signings like Frawley, but RS had a philosophy that he wanted to play.
The club have not helped themselves over the years by letting decent home talent leave, who all seems now to be regular SL players, and far better than what we've brought in (Dupree, Mulhern, Harrison, Trout amongst others).
Arthur has come in and realised what every man and his dog (except RS) knew from the start of this season, we're no way near big enough, and we're no way near fit enough. Hopefully Blease can sort out the squad and backroom, and Arthur can whip us into a half decent team with fitness and a style of play that makes us competitive in every game whether we win or lose.

| Don't disagree but Im not sure where this idea that James Harrison was a home grown talent that was let go has come from?
He played a couple of games on loan for us from Fetherstone after coming through at Batley Bulldogs
Anyway Ive made my point on that one.

| Harrison never was home grown, that's a fallacy. He was a player that had a decent pedigree, and a good work ethic that needed some rough edges knocking off. Warrington have done that with him so well done them. The only point about Harrison is that he would be better than everyone we have except Mik, and that's a statement of where our group of props are at the moment.
We need to fix that first, then every other player on the team will look better.

I'm told that he had the changing room door lowered to five feet 10 inches as part of his ruthless and heightest war on beanpoles. Furthermore, I'm reliably informed that he personally vetoed the signing of young Ellery and drove him to Odsal himself. In a further twist, turns out he also overruled our scouts on Jason Robinson. Didn’t like shorties either. The man was a monster.

| Think they’re trying to clamp down on inside leaks.
Morgan Gannon looks to have beefed up, looks in fine fettle could be like a new signing for us if he can kick on next year

Has there been any word on whether he or Holroyd have been given the go ahead to return to full training?

| It seems like Arthur is going for a hard reboot this off season. That has to be a good thing regardless of comings and goings. The last two off seasons we've heard all about how much the players were enjoying things, and how well they've all bonded etc. I for one took with a pinch of salt the fact that Walters said the off season with Wigan was much harder, but from the sounds of it that was probably right, but won't be this year....
I still wouldn't be surprised if a couple more go. I don't think training will fix Sangare's lack of aggression or Goudemand's lack of size. Maybe Sangare might stay but if so he'd have to be some way outside the first choice 17 if we're going to make waves next year.

Think most would appreciate you checking your facts before spouting random BS. James Harrison of Featherstone, returned to Featherstone after playing two games on loan for Leeds at the end of the covid hit 2020 season. He continued to play for Rovers before joining Wire in 2022. Rohan Smith joined Leeds about of a third of the way into 2022. You say that Smith wanted him out of the club. Unless he is capable of time travel ( I wouldn't be shocked if you were a believer) that is impossible. Does that fill you in on the details?

| Makes sense in some aspects. Non quota and can play centre where Arthur clearly wants a new signing.
In other aspects...it's Jake Connor and he's terrible.

| If we are signing Jake Connor you would have to believe we have more cap space than was indicated as Arthur has stated publically that we are looking for size in the forwards and a hard running threequarter. If Connor is additional to the above and he can get properly fit I am ok with the signing as he covers 3 positions and brings something different in that he can unlock a defence which croft apart we have struggled with. If he signs expect him to take the 14 shirt!
