Cant really argue with this - if Hardaker had the distribution of Tomkins or even Webb for that matter he'd be world class.

| Quote: Gotcha "Hardaker is the best defensive fullback I have seen in super league since Wellens was in his prime. He is faster and more agile than Wellens ever was.
Other than Radlinski I can't recall a better fullback in the comp than one of these three. What an absolute waste to put him on wing, and I am including Webb who had other qualities.
I didn't include Tomkins as he is a good player playing fullback, not a specialist fullback, and don't think he will play that role in NRL.'"
Don't mention this on the Warrington forum as I have already being informed that Hodgson is the best FB in Super league and has been since he first arrived in this country. Webb was not fit to lace his boots apparently. Oh and Micky Higham for MOS?

By the way Rhinoms, I don't think the ref was that bad last night. Inconsistent at times as you said, but seen much worse.
Some good performers for Leeds last night, some poor. What we have been seeing all year. Thought Hardaker was brilliant.'"
Hardaker was good on Friday, although he was caught out when Gaskell broke through and ran round him, he need to be a little deeper to try close the angle for Gaskell and the corner. Would be interested in seeing the top tacklers for the game as there was a lot of strong defense in the middle and left of our line. Tackle of the game was Moore's back tracking to bring down the Salford man who was clean through following a Gaskell pass and 2 on 1 with Hardaker.... great effort from the big man. Please Minchella went well and got a try also.

| Be careful on here as you are not allowed to say anything bad about the prodigal sons Burrow and McGuire.
I think it would be pretty unfair to leave Sutcliffe out of the 17 business end of the season.
Loke I have said McGuire will have to go some to prove he is play off fit to get his place back.
I don`t think we can afford to have an average Burrow but great at times and an unfit McGuire in the side.
I still think we need to stick with McShane at hooker. The dilema is do we play Sutcliffe at 6 or 13?
Lastly someone commented on here that Charnley is not fit to lace Hall`s boots.
Can I also beg to differ on that please for this season?

| Easy win all in all never needed to be at the utter best to beat Salford on Friday. Hoping we can stop the silly forward passes from the ruck, we seem to get 2/3 a game with either a slow play or runners poor timing and we don't need that going into the playoffs! Also 2/3 penalties for lying on that never help the effort either. Simple things that need to be in order for the playoffs.

In that case I wonder what they are paying Hodgson?considering Webb turned down a lot more than he got for his new contract with Leeds

Wait until JJB gets back in then you will see the penalty count rattle along

| According to Opta Jones-Buchanan is pinged for 0.72 of a penalty in each game he plays on average.
That said it's noticeable how much Leeds' discipline generally has improved since he picked up his injury in Round 19 at Huddersfield. To that point Leeds were averaging just over 8 a game while since it's dropped to to 5.5
That represents quite an improvement over the last six Regular Rounds compared to the opening eighteen ..... no matter how it has come about.

I think that something similar might have happened last season at this stage of the season, and don't think JJB was out then.
That said, he does tend to take things borderline, and probably does make the officials think twice a lot of times, resulting in probably harsher penalties againts his team mates because of it.

| A bizarre choice of highlights on 'The Super League Show', as every Leeds try was shown from a position behind the sticks and at ground level, whilst most of the Salford ones were shown from the more traditional elevated, halfway line angle.

Absolutely. Worse angle possible to show the tries from.

| If you want to see the usual professionally produced footage it's contained on the SL Fulltime prog on Sky as ever. While I don't advocate a wholesale switchover to a low level behind the post view generally when it's offered as an addition to the normal output available elsewhere I treat it as a pleasant change.
Reminiscent of the RL Raw days which made the game feel real.
