He's already looking like an idiot. The team has not improved since week one and that is down to the coach. Points scored242, against 380 i.e -138
it doesn't take a genius to realise that they they need to tackle, tackle, tackle. Forget the attack just tackle the opposition into the ground. If you stop them scoring you've got a point already but NOTHING has been done to shore up the defence all season!

| Quote: craigizzard "That might be true. We'll never know what the score would have been if Hardaker started at 1.
However I think it's terrible man-management in three ways.
1) For Hardaker. Putting a guy who is not without ego but has been outstanding into the least involved position in the team can only be taken as a deliberate humiliation.
2) For Holding. Unnecessarily exposing a young player at a delicate stage of his career to a vital position in a struggling team, with potentially very bad effects for his confidence and development.
3) For the rest of the team, who may be equally wrong-footed by the coach's decision and certainly suffer the effects of the team being deliberately weakened at a time when it needs all the help it fan get.'"
Hardaker has been in dreadful form all season at fullback. I do not know if he has been carrying an injury but he has looked slow of foot and slow of thought. Like many players that rely mainly on their physique he will not be as good once he loses some physical advantage which has happened. Other teams realise he is not going to pass and have him worked out and he looks like a busted flush this year. Last night he too was thrown around like a rag doll and when he was moved back to fullback as Cas took their foot off the gas he still looked insecure and as bad as he has been all year. I would look to try and cash in on his past reputation and get rid.
Golding was one of the few to keep trying last night and has shown he has the mental toughness and enthusiasm to not to dent his confidence but with forwards not tackling around the legs he had had a busy evening with breaks coming all over the field.

Hardaker has been a shadow of last seasons player, but he has been a million miles from dreadful. One of our better performers despite his downturn in form. He certainly hasn't given a performance yet this season has bad as Golding last night, but I see the hypocritical comments you are making there.

| Hardaker was woeful last night, easily in the bottom 3 performances. Golding did OK and kept working hard to try prevent Cas on the numerous occasions they broke through. One of only 4/5 guys to come out with a tiny bit of credit for effort last night.

| A despicable, humiliating and embarrassing quote .....
Leeds Rhinos are "incredibly energised despite poor form" insists Gary Hetherington.
Well that's a relief !!! for a minute there, I just thought I was watching a really really rubbish team who were massively low on energy ?

Golding is enthusiastic and he made a good one on one tackle in the second half on Solomona. His positioning is quite poor for a full-back though as Dorn and Wells pointed out after the game for the second Dorn try and that happens often. Another example was the Ormsby try at Huddersfield two weeks ago, when he stood static wide left behind four Leeds goal line defenders instead of taking a more central position. Jones-Buchanan does his usual charge up in his one man defensive line and Golding enthusiastically gets over but too late. He does a lot of getting places just too late.
Not wanting to bag anyone specifically for last night they were all (Galloway apart) terrible for Leeds.

| I thought Keinhorst tried hard & at least seemed to make most of his tackles unlike the arm-flapping efforts of most of the rest.

| Quote: tvoc "Castleford's highest score V Leeds at Headingley was 34 (8/10/80 & 7/1/95) is now 52 (12/5/16)
Castleford's widest winning margin V Leeds at Headingley was 25 (8/10/80) is now 40 (12/5/16)
Before tonight - Last time Castleford won 4 in a row V Leeds was between 14/11/82 and 13/11/83
Before tonight - Last time Castleford won 3 in a row V Leeds at Headingley, haven't found one yet (only back to '59 though.)
On the plus side for McDermott's Leeds, Castleford failed to beat their best score and widest margin win V Leeds which came at Wheldon Road 2nd October 1983 - Castleford 54 - 4 Leeds. That proved to be Robin Dewhurst's final game in charge leaving the reigns to be handed to David Ward and Alan Smith on a caretaker basis.'"
Just before Mo Bamford arrived and Leeds equaled their record unbeaten run, won the JP trophy and made the CC semi. Although Dean Bell arriving at precisely the same time might have had a small impact also.

He is young and learning his trade but all evening he was having to cover across from wing to wing and had to cover the attack just before the excellent Gale kick on the 4th tackle so you could not say his positioning was poor. He did some really good work and showed great maturity one one occasion in particular where he tracked back not committing too early to the tackle looking back over each shoulder having to change direction several time as the attacker tried to wrong foot him which allowed teammates back to help make the tackle. Hardaker has hardly been a good role model for positional play this season either.
With regard to JJB if his team mates put in as high a work rate as he did then we would not have conceded so many points. JJB was top tackler again with 45 tackles top market tackler (11) and 103 metres (best m per c) with no errors no penalties so although there were big holes on our right flank he was doing his share of tackling so no wonder he missed a few.

Unfortunately however I think Printer was proven right: JJB is just not capable of playing anywhere but up the middle channel now.
As for Hardaker....have you ever liked anything he did? At least now you have him playing the position you have always stated he was better placed to be a success in. Cough !

^This^.
I don't think I've seen young Jimmy put a foot wrong all season - maybe one knock-on but that's been about it.

If more players, particularly Watkins and Hardaker had Keinhorst's work/attitude ethic we'd be much better off right now.

I neither like or dislike him as I have never met him. My opinion has been made solely on his rugby abilities or lack of and not his off field conduct which I have tried to avoid commenting on.
What I have done is to try to provide some balance to the complete over hype coming from the Kings New Clothes Baa Baa Sheep Club members who were blind to Hardaker's obvious limitations. I have acknowledged his many good defensive performances and ability to make metres on kick returns but pointed out his lack of passing skills and poor rugby awareness.
I also highlighted his habit of dying with the ball and suggested his strong running and defense was based on physique rather than rugby skills. I predicted that once his physical advantage declines he will look an ordinary player as he lacks the allround skills. My views upset a few of his ardent fans who waved their white sticks at me, however I think much of my opinion has been justified with ZH's sorry performances in the first half of this year. So far I have refrained from saying I told you so.
I really hope he can regain his form and confidence, along with the rest of the squad, because it is painful to see him struggling. I can see him as a strong running back rower in the future.
