Also good to see the Exiles and England players of both Hull and Leeds show the other top sides how to do it and back up with a win.
Missing McDermott's and Agar's training sessions is clearly the way forward.

To be fair, Leeds player contingent in the exhibition game on Friday was only 2 players.
Sinfield, Peacock and Hall didn't turn up.

Hauraki was very good ,Smithy looked like a natural LC with his winger Hall getting a hat-trick and Bailey was deserved M.O.M.
Some great desire shown defensively and when people see the highlights some great tries were scored.
Does it paper over any cracks?
Absolutely not , what it does show is what 99% of us knew in that this team/squad is capable of better than what's been shown over the last couple of weeks but still does'nt disguise the need for more quality to be added because HKR are no where near top 6 material let alon top 4.
Felt a bit sorry for Webby he made some awful errors but did also have 1 or 2 assists.
Any North Standers want to comment on the grief in there?'"
Agree totally mate, i thought webb made a two or three errors, but he threw some great passes that actually went backwards
Bailey was top today, but we this type of performance every now and again, he needs to bring it week in week out
i was concerned about JP backing up but he proved me wrong that was his best game since coming back from injury.
Weller ran some good lines and was much better, although he wasnt tested greatly in defence so dont want to praise him too much, but he was much inproved.
I still think we need to work on our goal line d, i know it was tough conditions, and to concede only 14 points is a big improvement, but i still feel that when a team gets close to our line if they go wide theyll score.

Keith I am well aware of your top 4 - Leeds - Whipping boys rank of Super League and know you include pretty much every team outside of those top 4 + Leeds as whipping boys.
My question to you: What is your take on Catalans? Surely too impressive against the top sides to be deemed whipping boys and excellent form in the last 10... but Leeds beat them so?!

Leeds this season exhibit overwhelming evidence of being whipping boys against the genuine SL contenders and of being flat track bullies against the rest of the SL rabble.
Quote: The Webbmaster "My question to you
Catalan Dragons are nuisance value when they have their full complement of players to select from but they lack squad depth and aren't genuine SL contenders. Leeds beat them because they had way too many of their ex-NRL contingent absent that day... namely Greenshields, Menzies, Millard, Farrar, Paea and their highly influential playmaker Dureau. I still expect Leeds to finish above them in 5th place even with McDermott in charge.

Hard to tell wasn't it against such poor oppossition? I don't think Leeds have had an easier game all year.
That said, I thought the forwards really worked their balls off, and played really well (Bailey the pick). The two centres were absolutely excellent. And for me I hear what you say about sorry for Webby, but personally I would have given him MOM. He controlled everything in attack for us.
The only downside was the halfbacks, who were completely anonymous. This despite a dominant forward pack, and some posters on here saying half backs can only stand out with a dominant pack.

Good post mate.
On the money with Weller, Smith and Bails.
Weller seemed to benefit from better ball in better position out wide. Bit more room for him to play. Much better than him getting bogged down the middle when he has pretended to be a loose. He still wasn't great in defensive position and we saw another sloppy carry BUT he did some excellent things in attack which more than compensated for it. I can live with players makign errors just as long as they have more ticks than crosses overall. So an improved set forward for him.
As for Smith displayed classic close quarter centre play. Some centres want plenty of room to trick and dazzle but I think Smith crys out for the opposite. He does very well sniffing plays out with very little room to play with.
As for the Noth Stand, I was up there for this one, oh how I drop on!!! and I had to stop a 'tard KR fan (who was wearing a blue baseball cap) from trying to hit a child!! He was a proper retard, with a glass-jaw, I can only presume of course.

Whilst i agree they are'nt the best team around they weren't allowed to be anything else yesterday because our pack destroyed them.
Harsh call re-half backs i think they did what the rest of the team did in that they got stuck in and played the conditions the best they could and tbf Mcguire and Burrow both got involved in some good passing moves that lead to tries.
The weather really bogged both HB's down aswell because it nullified their running games.
It should boost confidence whilst also keeping their feet on the ground in that although they played well the opposition were'nt the best around but still a team they hadn't beat for a while.

This is true, and I accept at times we played some nice rugby. Just can't get overly excited as I did not think the oppossition were good at all. But you are correct that we did not allow them to play and controlled the game. The defence certainly looked very very good.

I don't accept that one, that it was harsh. Both players were anonymous throughout the game. You could have took both out and replaced and the team would not have been effected. That's not too much of a bad thing, because you are correct about the bogging down and no running game. But I just compare the way Webb controlled the attack and the passing he was doing in comparison, and he was million miles ahead of them for this one.

| i thought the half backs played the conditions, bringing the forwards on to the ball, and keeping it simple. I thought burrow was much better in the first half, than he was in the second, i felt our attack broke down too often in the second half when burrow got the ball. Mcguire had a solid game through out, little signs are there that hes getting more confidence week by week.
Zak Hardaker i know he was probably at fault for KR's first try as he didnt slide across in time to tackle cockayne, but his take, spin, break and pass for delaneys try was great to watch! as most wingers now a days come inside looking for work, and to take some of the work off the forwards, he looks very hard to tackle, has good footwork and is always looking to pass, i see a potenial full back or stand off in him. That said im happy for him to continue on the wing, and keep improving

| Weller Hauraki had an outstanding match on Sunday, I thought he should have been man of the match. He made some great breaks and set up multiple tries, and even showed he can kick rather well!
I know some people on here don't think he's any good, but I hope he can keep performing like he did on Sunday!

| i would to mate, id like nothing more than for weller to prove me and everyone wrong, he was much improved against hull kr but the flack hes got this season , much of it is warranted imo by his poor tackling
Bailey i called as my mom after about 65mins he was a real handful, strong going forward, good in defence, constantly winning the collision, getting on his front for quick ptb's, but a bit like weller i want to see this on a consistant basis, because hes capable of more than just winning penalties ( which he also did well against kr)
