| Quote: Damo-Leeds "Tomorrow I just can’t see a Saints win for a number of reasons. One of the reasons is their over rated full back who got in this years dream team in favour of Brent Webb who is obviously better than the pair. Brent Webb has a point to prove tomorrow and I feel that he’ll do it well.
We then have the declining star in Sean Long who I am glad is back tomorrow. It keeps that Mattie Smith out of the game and that's make me happy that Leeds don’t have to face another young spark like James Roby.
If Leeds had a choice to have Nick Fozzard or Kylie I think there made their decision ages ago. Fozzard is a good prop but he is only in that dream team because of the commentaries love of St Helens and their unsung players.
Leeds just have a better team all round and I can’t see St Helens beating us for years unless the rumours are true. Jamie Lyon is coming back to St Helens? I very doubt it. He has a point to prove down under and I think he will next season.
I say bring on the battle!'"
Good old Damo... he's never lost it

| Quote: G1 "Bailey shouldn't get near a 1st team jersey again this year.'"
Not always been Ryan's biggest supporter then?
If only you had known back then he'd go on to add two more winner's rings to his collection.
There's a certain irony when pulling up an ancient thread to highlight other poster's views on a member of the playing staff you highlight your own condemnation especially as you claim to be 'swimming against a tide of fekkwittedry.'

I could've easily left alone this thread but it highlights that I calls it as I sees it and I have no favourites.
"this year" being the key phrase. Bailey's form, like any other player, will vary.
I steadfastly supported Donald in 2006 but have been happy to offer reasoned criticism of him this year.
Compare and contrast with other posters who love certain players and let that cloud their appraisal and who "hate" others and do likewise.

So in other words you are no different to the posters you are slaggin off when posting today on this thread?
Putting the Smith issue aside, you were trying to poke fun at posters who questioned why Thackray was dropped for Leeds and praising his performances at that time. You did this in relation to what he has become.
On the other hand, you critisize Bailey in same thread, and now make out you know the error of your ways.
In truth you commented on Bailey at the time probably correctly, and lets be honest, it was just a particular period. Which of course is no different to the people saying Thackray should not be dropped, at a period in time when he was one of the better players.
Your efforts to poke fun and spectacularly exploded in your face.

Unfortunately Tony Smith didn't share your view or was he wrong to select Bailey for the Final Eliminator (Leeds 36 Wigan 6) and the Grand Final (Leeds 33 St Helens 6) ?

When Smith selected Bailey against my opinion did I say something silly about him like, erm, "The sooner Smith is away from this club the better."?

No he was right. Which is why I had such faith in him at the time. he was in a far better position to make assessments on who should and shouldn't play.
A lesson some on here would do well to heed.
