| I’d be looking for an old fullback. I’m a massive fan of walker but I’d say his organisation of the team in defence is poor. Not that it’s all his fault, but I think he contributes to it. Give him someone to work under for a couple of seasons and he’ll be awesome.

I think if you brought in another FB Walker would walk. He has quite a high opinion of his ability and he's not going to wait around being blocked, especially not with the agent in his ears.
I don't have a problem with the younger lads learning on the job a bit, we should give them time. Walker has been rocks and diamonds a bit this year (his performance at Wigan was a shocker), but when he's on his game he's still MoM standard even with his shortcomings. Problem with him I think is that as soon as he's matured he'll be off to the NRL and leave us.
You're right that Walker has a lot of improvement left in his game - the exciting thing is how good he could be in another few years.
Again, amid all the other issues our squad has, for me Walker is way down the list.

| Quote: Brodie123 "Trying to remain positive and after Friday night it is becoming harder to remain positive, but after 6/7 games into the season still playing Rugby in winter (I thought it was summer Rugby) and numerous changes to both the Coaching team and the playing team we need to show some empathy to the team. Three players and the coach travel over from OZ in their mid summer to Leeds in the middle of winter, more time is needed for these guys to gel and to start the team moving forward. It is a much bigger job than anticipated, just look at the personal who have left over the last 3/4 seasons, and still I like others expected a much better team performance, some poor decisions regarding the team has been made, but on the other hand I have started to understand why the likes of JJB and Ablett were awarded another contract. give them another 6 games see where we are then, once the weather warms up and the grounds harden I think we will start to see a different approach from the team.
Speaking to a Director on Friday after the game if you think they are happy with the situation they are not and they are trying all in their power to turn this around, this is becoming a massive effort from all concerned to make us successful again.'"
Completely disagree about Ablett & Jjb also what exactly does "doing all in their power to fix it" mean? We still need 2 props & an explosive BR. Lowes is still here & that hasnt changed either si id take the corporate soundbites with a pinch if salt until things actually do change.

| Success in my opinion is built on the foundation of a pack of forwards that has aggression and actually goes forward and especially a solid defensive unit. All things we are lacking at the minute.
Yes we have some issues in the halves and the backs but until we fix the above we will be amongst the also rans.

I think we have enough go forward. Not enough to win the league but enough for now. The defence is an issue but then that’s more than just the forwards responsibility.
But I think the halves are killing us at the moment. The forwards are getting us into decent positions but the halves aren’t taking advantage of them and are killing any momentum we might generate or pressure we might place on the opposition.

Chappy your correct, having too many slingsby gins last Friday, granted looking back at reality my comments should not have changed, unfortunately some on here just look through blue and Amber tinted glasses, the two year deal for Ablett and one year for JJB is nothing more than looking after the boys. Able txt last year commented that he was moving to OZ with his family, he said this in the legends suite, he had a job as a plumber and was going to play second grade rugby, he received plenty of plaudits for his comments, yet weeks later Sinfield offered him a two year deal to play SL with the Rhinos, it's crazy, legends on the pitch don't always make good leader off the pitch. It's completely different and questions sooner rather than later will be asked about these deals. The same questions will be asked of Furner, why him, what made him the stand out person for the job, who takes responsibility and ownership for the failures, McDermott has been blamed , GH has been blamed , who is next , but no one has taken responsibility and ownership, I haven't heard anyone say that my head is on the. Block if I don't get it right. Candidly it does need a few more to realise that they are not super league standard. It is not doing the players confidence any good getting dropped then playing at Fev the following week and then being brought back to play for the Rhinos the next week. No one knows where they stand, players being told to look for another club then they play for the Rhinos the next week, players should not be managed like that, you only get loyalty back when you show loyalty to players.
I can only moan so much, the team is a shambles, yes we are in problems, it will change when they realise we are in serious trouble. Let's just hope it won't be too late before someone realises that it is serious. Leeds to win this Saturday by 18 points

| Sick of the excuses, when an English player comes over to the NRL and they don’t perform, they’re out. It’s ruthless and that’s how it should be, especially if you’re getting paid the big bucks.

It`s amazing what a few gins can do.
I said last year when Sinfield was appointed that the messiah might not be what he was cracked up to be.
Yes he was a great captain apparently but some folk forget that towards the end of his career there were many on here wanting shut of him.
I`m sure his intentions are good and he wants the best for the club and I admire his loyalty to his mates.
But you also need a ruthless streak about you to run a club as big as Leeds.
He or somebody has not handled player relationships well at all and that might be why we are seeing the dross on the field.
Yes it takes time to build and I`m sure we will get there.
But if we don`t do it soon we will be cut off from the top 8 and pressure starts to mount and confidence starts to drop.
A win on Saturday will go a long way in building confidence but a loss before the Cas game could demoralise us even more.

| I’m not sure whether it’s necessary or progressive to run around in circles trying to find ever more players / club officials to blame. I have my own opinion about the mistakes that have been made, and the really poor transition from the Golden generation. But - this is sport, there are a million variables that can affect performance on the field and results.
Kev Sinfield is a smart bloke and was a very good captain. He gets it. I’m not convinced about the signings so far but the rebuild is at least another year away from being close to completion.
Talking about accountability, for me the common denominator would be GH and his famously “value orientated” ways - but then he’s also completely turned the club around from a financial farce, and delivered probably the best facilities in English RL. We have enjoyed our greatest period of success ever, in the club’s history, under his tenure.
Sinfield coming in as director of rugby is a nod to the fact that GH might have lost his touch on the playing side, but it needs time.
Players and coaches etc shouldn’t be above criticism, but I can’t stand fans booing the side, it’s an embarrassment. Support is more important when times are tough than when the side is winning silverware every year. The club will come back and thrive again but not if people withdraw that support in a sulk.

| I was told when KS came in that he had had conversations and projected 2-3 years to turn around the problems that we have. So far I can see that being true. We all got excited with marque signings and ovebuilt our potential in our own beliefs and hopes of what was to come.
I have to agree that booing from the crowd is ridiculous, yes we are entitled to our opinions but booing has to be stopped. How do you think that will affect morale of those leaving the pitch, will booing make them play better next week. I dont think so

| The only thing that easy to criticise Subfield for so far are some of the players re-signed. I'd say Furner has to show a bit more that he's the man capable of moving us forward.

| We are in a hole but the youth system is the light at the end of the tunnel. We have a group of 16-19 year olds with the future of Leeds in their hands.
I’ve never seen a stronger pack graduating through at the same time - not sure we have a real standout like Adrian Morley but I am pretty confident that a good number of the current crop will make it to first grade.
With Oledzski and Smith already pretty much through, we have a genuinely exciting set of middles developing over the next few years. Trout, Walters, Smith is an absolutely cracking back row in prospect and with Edwards, Delaney, McConnell, Mustapha in reserve too that is extremely handy.
I see no reason why Oledzski and Holroyd won’t make the full England team in a couple or three years, and Johnson is the best hooker I’ve seen since Matt Diskin.
McLelland has a bright future and there is some skill in the back line too.
The main task the club has now is investing in this talent, providing the right culture around them and giving them opportunities. But fans need to be patient because we are still years away from this development bearing fruit in the first team.
Personally I can’t wait to see what this crop of players can do once they’ve matured.
