| Quote: Once were Loiners "I don't think we should give any stick to Roberts or to Smith for signing him. He was brought in as a reserve because we didn't have any kids coming through when Smith joined except for 17 year olds. One thing Smith was right about finding incredible is that across the board we had so few club-produced reserves in their early 20s trying to get into the team. We now have a bunch of lads approaching the age when they should be able to put pressure on for starting spots, so there's no need for Roberts. All the best to Luis.
As for Watkins and Tapau, just no. Years too late for either of them. Tapau hasn't been an NRL regular for several years and his best form is almost a decade ago.'"
You say that, yet Watkins and Tapau are still better than anything we haveā¦..

| Tapau is 34 and has hardly been used in a season thats turned to garbage for the broncos. He may be better than some of our props but thats an awfully low bar and we need much much better from overseas signings.

Yes he does look good and there`s a very experienced centre at Leigh who can kick goals that would be ok for a year or two.

Not another clamouring for Hardaker back.
Heās signed for Hull FC, which is probably his level now.

And he`s still better than the 2 centres we have even at his age imo.

| I wouldnāt be interested in Hardaker now, his time has gone. I get that people are not happy with our Centres, neither have covered themselves in glory this year, and in Newmanās case heās not lived up to his promise so far. Heās coming into his last year of contract (I think) and if he doesnāt have a big 2025, I can see Leeds letting him go and bringing one of the kids through. Weāve got some very good talent coming through in the Centre and they will need to have a go sometime.

I'm probably in the minority, but I think Newman is heading in the right direction. He's on track to play over 20 games this year, without serious injury, and whilst he's not doing anything flash at present he's carrying the ball really well. Like the rest of the three quarters he'd look a lot better behind a competitive pack, which I hope will be rectified next year. I think he'll suprise a few in 2025.

I've been critical of Newman but there have been signs under Arthur (esp. last two games) that he's getting his performances right again.
I guess my beef with him is that as one of our feted superstars he's not injecting himself into games in a positive way as much as we know he has been capable of in the past (remember the game when he monstered French and Field, and was getting accused of being greedy with scoring?). Right now he's being outshone by the likes of Miller and Croft, and (?slower) Momirovski looks like being the more capable finisher/creator out wide.

I'm hoping he'll become a less flashy but more effective player under Arthur's coaching. Arthur has told Miller he wastes energy, and the same could be said of previous incarnations of Harry. If he focuses on doing the simple things well and not trying to beat six players every time he touches the ball he could yet be a huge asset to us.

| I agree.
Even in the short amount of time Arthur has had, you can see his impact on certain players.
Particularly Miller, Newman and Bentley.
They all look better for it.
