Whereas I’m worried for Kal’s fitness, I would like to see him go to NRL, get back into form and show what he can do over there.

Someone like Cuthbertson will hang on like a limpet to his last year of contract, because he's on his last deal and his market value will have plummeted since the heady days of 2015. To 'get rid' of someone like him Leeds would almost certainly have to top up his salary.

I think there's more scope with players who might have some time on their contracts but are supposedly more in their prime. If they've got a further 2 or more years its hard, but when it gets down to just one more year they will need to start thinking about what happens next. Whilst they could hang on at Leeds, its quite possible they end up on loan or even playing reserves every week. Then their most likely move at the end of their contract will be semi pro like so many others - they will be seen as not SL standard, and whilst Leeds can't force them to go, who'd want to sign someone who was clearly more interested in playing out a contract regardless of getting picked than trying to show what they can do on the field?

Anyway, that's the conversation I'd be trying to have with some of these guys.

So many players have lost market value (or gained none) at Leeds in recent years, despite our facilities etc.

We’re also missing lots of targets. Maybe some of this is agent-fuelled because everyone knows we’re keen for new players.

It will be good to see the back of this season but we’re still 3-4 good players short of taking on 2030 with more confidence. And I mean Leuluai good nor Achurch good.

Good choice of club Kallum.no real pressure as the Gold Coast is really seen as the basement fodder of the NRL and a great place to spend a few years whilst earning decent coin. Good luck you have been a great servant to Leeds.

Hmmmm im torn with this one.
This season has highlighted for me that reserve grade was/is needed KW has struggled for fitness until last 2/3 games.
A reserve grade would have enabled us to bring him back with less pressure & i also think giving hkm the caotaincy was a mistake.
On the flip side we are now releasing one of our best players whilst we are in a relegatiin fight & keeping dross like Ferres Ablett etc another master strike by our DOR.
There best be some quality lined up because KW finally has a much better grasp of that right edge BR defensively.
I'll also add if we can force out Watkins then we should be throwing Ferres & co in the nearest skip.

Good god Mark, I understand the frustration, we all have it mate, but come on think about it.

Watkins wasn’t just released mid year. You have to have a willing other club to take the player, otherwise you are simply adding to your cap. In Watkins we have that, it was a simple business decision. Who is going to take on poop like Ferres? An injured finished Ablett? There not, so we are stuck with them. Pay them up now, and all we do is effect the cap for others to come in mid season.

Yes we want rid, but can’t just click our fingers. Look at Goulding, Parcell, Cuthbertson, all season available, and nobody come in for them, until now it seems Hull KR want Parcell.

So what happens with the rest of his testimonial year?
