| BTW . give credit to the ticket office staff . they have been inundated with enquiries for tickets , so much so that they had to close the lines at one point .
to Kev and the team they very rarely get any appreciation for what they do , but if it wasn't for them none of us would be going to any of the home games .
again

| Had fun trying to get through on the phone this morning at 9am. Twice waited 10 minutes to get to the front of the queue only to be told that the ticket office was closed. Got through the 3rd time though.

About the same as a rugby ball being kicked over the stand onto the cricket pitch.
I've never seen either happen.
I once saw Don Wilson hit it on to the roof of the stand but it didn't clear it.
We play Hampshire at Scarborough but doubt that KP will play in any event.

I remember seeing Andy Roberts cart Graham Stevenson all around the ground one fabulous Sunday afternoon, including a 6 into the football ground. Mind you that was up at Bradford Park Avenue.

I too have seen many sixes hit at the old Park Avenue ground over the football stand.
That's where I developed my love for cricket despite even seeing Dickie Bird make his highest ever 1st class score (181*) vs Glamorgan, not an innings containing (m)any sixes hit over the football stand.
I saw Boycott's 1st ever 1st class innings there too, in 1962, vs Pakistan, 4 in each innings.
Ah happy days.

| I scored at Bradford Park Avenue
When I say "scored" I mean in a geek-like way for the Leeds cricket team, working the scoreboard and suchlike - not anything romantic, no-one could be that hard up as to try and score at Bradford Park Avenue

Yes indeed.
I obviously don't go as far back as you do. When the ball went into the football ground it was not coming back as the grass was about three foot tall in my day.

Or if there is anyone like that they'd be looking to 'score' down Lumb Lane.

Young Lawrence isn't going to this game, the semi final should we win, and the final!
He's the first to moan about people not attending games, but makes no effort to attend himself! Poor show Lawrence, very poor!

| Quote: cheekydiddles "To be fair,it's hardly just Leeds fans that have shown an apathy to the CC ties over the last few years.
It's because of declining numbers that the RFL in conjuction with the clubs came up with the free 4th round entry for super league season ticket holders in the hope of getting bums on seats but i don't think even that has really worked,as whilst you might get a decent/reasonable attendance figures in the 4th round for a top all super league tie, after the 4th round the figures just drop again.
In general it seems that a lot of season ticket holders throughout the game, not just Leeds will chose not to give up their hard earned cash to pay for none season ticket games.
In todays climate and given the cost of many season ticket packages then this apathy towards the Cup prior to the Semis/Final will continue unless the clubs/RFL take further action.
This year they even set a cap for all clubs ticket prices for the 5th round but even with that IIRC the 'glamour' tie of the round between Huddersfield and Warrington only attracted circa 6000?'" I agree with everything you have written. My post wasn't a criticism of Leeds fans simply an observation that you don't have to look too far back for evidence that there isn't the demand for this game (for the reasons you highlight) that justifies the wailling and gnashing of teeth about the crowd reduction.
