Maybe Sheens is worried that now that England have discovered they only have a plan A and no plan B, as was shown in the 1st & 2nd half of the previous meeting between the two, that he may be going home with his tail between his legs so is looking to get every advantage he can

On the face of it would seem to be a sensible compromise.
Does he ref in the NRL or just in the NZ home competitions?
Re Hayne, am I correct in thinking that he's been part of the 2 ref system in Oz? If so surely it's harder to judge who's the best ref in that comp?
In future maybe the answer will be to use 2 refs in International games (at least those involving Oz & NZ) & then picking 1 ref from each participating nation.
That would have allowed both Hayne & Ganson to officiate.
Another way would be to have the ref from one of the sides & the touch judges from the other & using referees to run the line as they do in RU.
One of the few things maybe we could learn from the "dark side".

That could only happen though if we had a 2 ref system in SL as well, since Ganson wouldn't have done it before. And, sadly, that looks fairly unlikely.

| Only £25 tickets available now and no notice about top tier just yet, if its open i would expect it to be £20/£10.

| Am I wrong in being disappointed that the final on Saturday will not see the Crims get a piece of Kiwi Kai again at Elland Road.
The game in London 3 weeks ago was simply the best game that had been played on these shores this year and to be denied the opportunity of a repeat fixture was a source of disappointment for me last Saturday night.

That means that the Kop and the South Stand is sold out then with only the East and West Stand far ends having tickets left!
Do you think that they might open the top tier of the East Stand just for pay-on-the-gate on the night at say £20 or maybe even £15 if they sell out? Does not seem to be a great deal of point in selling people tickets on a Wednesday that they will just have to pick up from the ticket office on the night anyway?

Probably and it was the best game I have seen for quite some time as well, but the England v Kiwi game was not far off... and of course the crowd would be smaller so the RFL will not agree with you.

The 24-0 New Zealand win in the 2005 final had 26,534 there.

I know, I was there, but if Frosties is correct, and he is usually, then we are almost certainly way above that figure already. What is the capacity minus the top tier 33 to 35k?

id be amazes if the RFl sell the £30 and £40 tickets out, only then would there be a reason to open the top tier, id also assume its too late to open it now

Well Frosties seems to think that they are sold out and I have a £40 ticket (which of course was £30) so not sure.
As I understand it the issue with the top-tier is the safety certificate and public liability insurance premium cost, with the insurance being the biggest thing. Leeds Utd have not bothered because the overall yearly premium is not worth (given they don't need it) it but getting this sorted for this or any other big Leeds Utd one off games is fine.

Good game that. I was there. The year before GB v Australia had over 40k there didn't it?

So was I, with John_D, Puig-Aubert and Andy Gilder winding up some Aussies who were around us as we were shouting for the Kiwis. Was a quality day out that as we'd been on the lash in Leeds all afternoon as well for good measure.
