Quote: batleyrhino "Have you ever asked for a pay rise, or left a job for a better paid one somewhere else? I have, along with most of the working population. It doesn't mean we are greedy or special, it just means we are looking for the best we can get. Why should you rugby players be any different. Smith has been the country captain for his age, a selection made by people that know more about this game than either of us. He's on his way back from a long period of injury, and playing for a team that has been getting beat most weeks, so it's hardly surprising that he's not been a stand out performer in the team we put out tonight.
It's nothing to do with money, you nor I have any real knowledge of what these guys get paid, so stop bringing that into the discussion when it's irrelevant to tonight.'"
We do know he got paid more because it's spread on here like a whores legs.
Lilley and Oledzki both went to the same poor performing and got great reviews and this kid Smith has got awful reviews. Maybe if we didn't treat him special and exceptions for him wage wise then he'd have knuckled down better and have more of a point to prove. You start treating young players special whilst they're still in nappies and you'll get what you see in football with young English footballers who think they're the bee knees but then flop.
