"Leeds is the greatest club in Rugby League"
Alex Murphy 2011: |
|
| Quote: Seth "Come on christopher et al who scoffed at criticism of smith and the signing of frawley. Give us your honest assessment of this?'"
Christopher is hidden away with Lord Lucan telling him everything is not as bad as it seems down at Headingley and that the likes of Frawley will ultimately come good.
You can look at a league table and guess at just how bad Hull are, but then you watch them for a full 80 mins and realise just what a hole they are in. Unfortunately, we are deep down in that same hole and we ain’t getting out this season. Hull are very fortunate that licensing has saved them from possible relegation, though it’s left them with absolutely nothing to play for and a boring season for the supporters. I really don’t see where the RFL are going with this current grading system, it’s a surefire way of killing the game.

| The problems are a lot more fundamental than one player's form. Frawley is down on confidence as is everyone else. The basic problems are a complete lack of platform from the forwards, rubbish defence and lack of structure to our play. These issues are interlinked as well, as it seems - just like last year - that literally nobody has a clue what we're trying to do in half our sets. Just as last year confidence is ebbing out of the team every week. As soon as the magic plays dry up we look an awful rugby team. I can't go past the coach on that one.
I thought Frawley was a poor signing, but the rest of the spine seem to be collectively clueless for the most part. They look as though they've barely met each other, let alone had an off season and now ten games together. Again, not sure how you can look past the coach on that score? I do wonder how long it will be before the players force GH's hand. If they decide they've had enough - despite the fact they need to have a hard look at themselves - it will be completely untenable for Smith.

| We really should have been hammering that Hull side, my mates a Hull fan and he said that was one of their better performances of the season, but we werent good enough at all, completion rate was shocking.
Great debut from Lumb, a great finish for his first try, even though it was some questionable defence. He looked solid under the high ball and made a great break down the wing in the second half, showing much more promise than Roberts.

| Quote: "Yosemite Sam wrote
Bang on. Yes they've paid their money and are entitled to their opinion, like all of us, but there is a time, place and medium. We all grumble when at the game, but that today was utterly without class and ultimately counter productive for reasons very well articulated in an earlier post. Moronic behaviour from a brainless mob seemingly more interested in the beer than the team.
'"
Its like the booing of Nene and Hurrell everytime they touched the ball during the home games earlier in the season, really embarrassing behaviour.

| Frawley pushing Edgell off a Kick off catch and then screaming at him for dropping it was quite honestly disgusting behaviour. Get him out of the door with Rohan.

| It sounds bizarre saying this as a Hull fan, but I would be more worried if I were a Leeds fan about current form.
Your spine yesterday was Miller, Croft, Frawley, Ackers and Cam Smith
Our spine yesterday was Walker/Moy, Charles, Morgan Smith, Houghton and Cator.
There is a huge cap difference in those spines, and you looked so disjointed at times. There are multiple reasons for where we are at the moment, players out of position, no coach, no fitness, young kids playing, but I would be expecting far more from that spine of players than what you are currently getting.

The atmosphere, especially at away games, is getting very soccer-esque.

| Fans work hard for the money they earn and surely they should be able to expect a reasonable level of performance?
Whilst it isn't edifying when fans behave in a certain manner but what do you expect supporters to do?
Are they just supposed to swallow the rubbish that is being put on the field - in which case how will the powers that be/players/coaches understand that things have to improve.
If you have bought a season ticket what are the options - the club are going to refund the balance of the ticket - what as promised hasn't materialised on the pitch, you don't go and waste the money or you go and vent your spleen?

| This was an away game so season tickets irrelevant.
And no, you don’t have a right just to vent your spleen if it is intimidating and toxic to the kids and families, family members of players included. What about my right to go to a game with my hard/earned cash and precious time without having to listen to drivel from a load of ed up yobs with no class or self control?
I didn’t love the performance either but a section in that Leeds crowd made it ten times worse to attend.

86.jpg Let all the doubters keep doubting and those who believe keep believing.
We’re only interested in those in the bubble. Anyone who wants to come in the bubble, you can come in.
But you’ve got to keep believing.:86.jpg |

| Can only assume that those who say they are OK with this kind of behaviour didn't actually attend the game. It was ugly and sustained. Not just kids either, I spotted a couple old enough to be grandads behaving like toddlers. People who behave in this way just seem to have a bizarre and very self centred sense of entitlement. Whether you think the coaches race is run or not, he's still trying to do a tough job under lots of pressure to the best of his ability. I don't know why that incites so much hatred.

The South Stand is full of these idiots , I decided to get a season ticket this year, probably won't bother again, could do without the drummer too !

| It's nice to see some others felt the same way as me. I think at one point there was a little fight among the group, which was interesting.
Totally agree with comments above, I realise vast majority on here think RS's race is run but Clueso on the head there.
Also players, as not-good-enough-for-Leeds as they may be, go out there and put their bodies in the line of fire for your entertainment every week. Anyone who has earned the right to cross the whitewash deserves respect in my view. Nobody is out there in a Leeds shirt trying to have a bad day - sections of the crowd booing them and calling for their head is not "support" any more, it's mob rules.
For what it's worth, those fans have definitely got through to RS this year, he looked angry in the presser. Can only imagine what the players think, including some really good ones we need to keep at the club if we are going to move forward. If I'm Brodie Croft I'm on the phone to my manager saying "get me out of this hole" frankly.
The singers are great on the whole, sometimes funny, create atmosphere and it's all part of the game. Hull just felt nasty, personal and toxic - felt embarrassed to be a Leeds fan frankly and be associated with it all.
