Don't really think this is taken in context tbh. He wasn't claiming that our use of the ball was the reason for the defeat, he was just saying that maybe we tried too much and hadn't earned the right to do it at that time of the game. He says we were trying to go around wakey rather than through them and you usually only go around teams once you have won the battle in the middle.

His main reason for the defeat was wakey had a better attitude, were more aggressive, more determined and beat us up.

Really, in what way?

As an aside, the YEP review said Trinity are close to signing Baldwinson from next year. Probably a good move if he's not going to get a proper run at Leeds.

I just heard it and can't hear Parcell's name mentioned, not sure where that is from. Thought what he said was right for once. Although if he was looking for blame, it wouldn't be the 47 tackle Parcell, he would be looking at the six missed tackles of JJB proving very costly, or the fact he has a team mate who doesn't have the mentality anymore to be there and keeps getting picked.

as much as I aren't, and never have been. a macdermott fan, Hetherington has not done him any favours with the lack of young quality recruitment.
having said that he doesn't help himself by leaving young legs on the bench and keeping old, slow players on.

we simply don't have quality in the forwards as a group. too many old, tired legs and not enough energy. teams like wakefield who play at a pace, run at these players will get on top quickly. yes they can still put in an odd performance but week in week out? no chance

Castleford don't seem to have problems unearthing good,young,unknown forwards from around the world, wish we could manage to do the same. JJB,Ablett,Garbutt,Mullally and,sadly Delaney just not up to it any longer. The supporters know it, pity McDermott and Hetherington don't appear to.

Wakefield showed what they were - a pretty average SL side - they didn't win the game because they played fantastic - they played at their normal level Leeds simply failed to show up.

There will be apologists on here who will look to defend the indefensible but you simply cannot avoid how bad Leeds were. The idea that you can have Delaney, Ablett and JJB on the field at the same time is ludicrous yet I would be very surprised if the coach doesn't start those three next week with Ward in the centre. Moon at half doesn't work but the coach will persist with it. Non playing subs will continue - its all good we are second in SL so it must be OK.

Posters like Juan will defend the coach no matter how bad the performance - and according to Printer we have to not comment on how bad it was we have to only post positive stuff - not sure what positives you can take from a coaching and playing performance of that nature

Games like that tell you everything you need to know about the standard of SL - it is at rock bottom. The fact a team as bad as Leeds are 2nd is an embarrassment.

No you can comment and slate the on field performance. The stuff on the other thread where people are trying to twist what he said last week into "he did no coaching at all last week and did all the coaching this week" etc. is daft.

Perhaps its the off the field stuff that is impacting the on the field performances? If the coach is having no impact what is the point of having him?
