I agree and i hope it works out that way. Id like to see sutcliffe in the left role, im not as high on keinhorst as a lot of people and think sutcliffe would offer a lot more there given a run of games.

IMHO This is where the squad are deficient

1. Ashton Golding; 04/09/96; Fullback [2021] - CT K
2. Tom Briscoe; 19/03/90; Wing/Centre/Fullback [2018] - FT - no form for 2 years shadow of the player we first signed
3. Kallum Watkins; 12/03/91; Centre/Wing/Fullback [2019] - CT K
4. Joel Moon; 20/05/88; Centre/Stand Off/Half Back/Second Row/Loose Forward [2018] - NFT
5. Ryan Hall; 27/11/87; Wing/Centre [2018] - CT
6. ???????????????????????? we need a organising stand off but from where ?Sutcliffe and Moon not the answer
7. Richie Myler; 21/05/90; Half Back [2020] - FT

Forwards - NFT ---- waste of a NFT spot unlucky with injury dissappointing to say he is ex SOO and Australian international

9. Matt Parcell; 30/10/1992; Hooker [2019] - NFT OQ
10. Adam Cuthbertson; 24/02/85; Prop/Second Row [2018] - NFT
11. Jamie Jones-Buchanan; 01/08/81; Second Row/Loose Forward [2017] - CT
12. Carl Ablett; 19/12/85; Second Row/Centre/Loose Forward [2018] - CT
13. Stevie Ward; 17/11/93; Loose Forward/Second Row/Centre [2020] - CT K
14. Liam Sutcliffe; 25/11/94; Fullback/Half Back/Loose Forward/Centre [2017] - CT K
15. Brett Delaney; 26/10/85; Second Row/Centre [2018] - NFT ** Done same as Galloway
16. Brad Singleton; 29/10/92; Prop/Loose Forward [2018] - CT
17. Mitch Garbutt; 18/04/89; Prop [2019] - NFT OQ
18. Jimmy Keinhorst; 14/07/90; Centre/Second Row [2018] - CT n
19. Brett Ferres; 19/04/86; Second Row/Loose Forward [2019] - FT
20. Anthony Mullally; 28/06/91; Prop [2018] - FT Sub standard forward
21. Josh Walters; 23/12/94; Centre/Second Row [2017] - CT ** as above

22. Ashley Handley; 16/02/96; Wing/Centre [2017] - CT **
23. Jack Ormondroyd; 07/11/91; Prop [2019] - FT **
24. Jordan Baldwinson; 11/11/94; Prop/Second Row [2017] - CT **
25. Jordan Lilley; 04/09/96; Half Back/Hooker/Loose Forward [2020] - CT K
26 Cory Aston/1995; Half Back [2018] - FT K - Bradford Bulls
27. Cameron Smith; 07/10/98; Loose Forward - CT [2018]
28. Mikolaj Oledzki; 08/11/98; Prop/Second Row [2021] - CT
29. Joshua Jordan-Roberts; 26/08/98; Loose Forward - CT **
30
31.
32. Alex Sutcliffe; 21/01/99; Centre/Second Row - CT
33. Harry Newman; 19/02/00; Centre - CT
34. Harvey Whiteley; 26/09/98; Loose Forward/Hooker/Half Back - CT
Brad Dwyer; 28/04/93; Hooker [2019] - FT

From this I would say we need 3 decent forwards and 2 quality backs for the squad to put us back into Finals again. As JP said after the match (or something similar) ,if we fail to reach the final play off's then we need some sort of overhaul. Perhaps if some deadwood is chopped we will have some leverage room under the cap,but other teams seem to be able to attract decent quality players to their squads so why not Leeds.
Thoughts anyone?

If the 2010 squad was under the cap, the cap surely cannot be an issue in 2017/2018. The serial unwillingness to spend what is permitted could explain why Leeds are only able to recruit journeymen and retain championship quality players.

Somewhat ironic that posting this message while stopping off on the way home - charging my car in the Doncaster Lakeside car-park (a stones throw from the Keepmoat) having watched the game with family in Leeds.

I think people get too caught up analysing the cap. You would be surprised with some of the wages, and value for money certainly isn't a measure of it.

You would be right to think with player x gone, player y can't be on that, but it would be a wrong assumption. And to be fair although this is poor from a management point, it is indicative of how the low salary cap has restricted throughout the game, and why Super League has gone so far backwards as a result.

Cuthbo aside, I think all our forwards are complete plodders.

Cuthbertsons best at 13 and imo the best 13 in the league,I think ward is a quality backrower and could be even better if his skills were used more often and i quite like garbutt but other than that i agree, our other props and backrowers are pretty poor, lots of hard work but no dynamism or threat atall

Moon was exposed for what he is a very good centre playing out of position

A few top flight signings before the start of next season would be very welcome. But not at the cost of spending more than we can afford. I doubt Bradford fans look back at their over spending period with a warm glow from their view point of the third tier of RL. Stadium development, whilst much needed, will add strain to our financial position and I suspect that, rightly, the board will be prudent in their spending elsewhere, including retention and recruitment.

no point having a great stadium but dwindling crowds as the team drops. if you can't factor in the full cap then it's a sad state we've got into

Those crowds would still be the envy of top of the table Cas, or top four fighting Wakefield and Salford, so not really an excuse at all.

No-one is suggesting spebding more than we've got just recruiting/promoting from within as we used to.
You can still sign good players without breaking the bank if you get the recruitment right & the youngsters coming through are nurtured properly.

I don't disagree. But IMO the club have a history of being financially conservative and I don't see that changing whilst we are in the midst of major stadium redevelopment.

I agree but I think that the view may be that if we can stay in the top 6 and be challenging for some silverware, that will keep the faithful turning up in sufficient numbers to fill the reduced capacity stadium while the re-building is completed. I expect gradual year on year, steady away, squad improvement.
