Quote: tvoc "It appears to me the norm for Leeds' recent season ending knee injury casualties is one of making good enough recoveries to continue their rugby careers. Diskin, Peacock and McGuire are all still out there earning a crust at SL level.

The only exception to the good recovery rule is ironically Watkins although in his case it appears a succession of injuries all over his frame rather than specific to the original knee reconstruction.

Menzies is a freak but IMO so is Senior. If he puts his hand up and I've no idea if he has or if he will I'd still like to see what he has to offer (if anything) in 2012.'"

So, the Tampon Kid is out for another month?

No surprises there.

<insert regulation response that JJB also suffered lots of injuries early in his career, as if somehow this equates to a like-for-like comparison between two identically sentient life forms complete with identical genetic make-up>

If scoring Tries were like drinking, Hall would be a Thirsty Winger. And Senior has Gallons of Water.

Maybe we should switch Hall to centre and put Hardaker out side of him?.........

After all, Hall has put Hardaker over for more than he has got in return this season icon_wink.gif

Senior was past his best pre-injury, but was still capable of providing decent service to his winger. Senior in his prime was the best Centre I have seen in a Leeds shirt, but that was a long time ago now.

It's time to move on.

Why? Even a past his prime Senior was stil the best British centre about.

If we have cap space and he's only the right contract why not have a look? Do people get places in the team because of age rather than ability? We haven't "moved on" from the elder statesmen in the front row.

How long do you think it would take Senior to get to anything like his pre-injury form and fitness? The season will most probably be over by that point. Presumably he'd need to play in the 20s first, denying game time to the next generation in that position.

That would depend largely on where he is in his re-hab and whether he's been realistically targetting a playing return in SL somewhere this season. I've no idea but suspect the player in question wants to get out and continue his record of playing in every season of SL. I don't think any of the few remaining ever presents made it in to 2012 and I expect that would be an added motivation for Senior.

Did Peacock or McGuire return via the under 20's last season? If they didn't (and I don't recall that they did) I can't see why Senior would need to either. Perhaps from the bench for a game or two in place of the second row option allowing Ablett to shift across one place if he's starting at centre.

Besides Watkins continuing problems injury wise Hardaker is currently proving to be of little threat ball in hand and more of a concern he's crowding out one of Super League's best finishers. If we're going to play two wingers on the left we might as well switch them around and see if Hall is the better option at centre. Senior could be a short-term option. I've no idea what he's looking for in terms of contract but I'd imagine the 'pay for play' deal that was alegedly on offer wouldn't be it.

I think that Senior would bring something to the attack, but from memory he was severely lacking in his defensive qualities last season, and this is an area where Hardaker has looked reasonably good, despite people's initial fears. I think he could do a job as an impact player for us, whether at second row or at centre, and I think the club are interested, but its whether senior can tie up a better deal somewhere else
