That's fair. I just think he'd be well down the pecking order and there are circumstances which would led to a poor display from a half.

| We really do have the most innefective set of overseas players I've seen at the club in a long, long time. Delaney, Hauraki and Cross are just not up to it - they are infact complete rubbish, Ali is done now, as great as he's been the big man is too fragile and can't get fit, Webb also is winging it - aggression gone, pace gone. Kylie is also really showing the mileage in what you would expect to be his last season. Buderus? A solution to a problem we didn't have when we signed him, we seem to have created a problem just for him to half solve, so on balance we have half a problem left that we didn't have before we signed him.
Webb, Ali and Kylie have been terrific players for us and helped win us a lot, that's what seperates those from the rest.

A disgrace.'"
It seemed like a very ironic boo from where we were stood.

| DHM - agree re overseas players. There's no point in having any at all unless they are in the first 17 every week and then they should be amongst your standout players. Given cap constraints etc, overseas is where you can get the quickest turnover of players if you want to refresh the side.
If I were GH I'd forget quantity and focus on getting 2/3 top players. IMO we need a good prop, strong-running second row (for whatever reason without Ali we don't have a single second row who is threateneing out wide) and a centre.
I think next season we really may as well risk going with the British threequarters we have now except (possibly) a new RIGHT centre. Fullback is covered, as are the wings and hopefully Watkins can make left centre his own.
Having said all that, unless Leuluai, Ali, Hauraki, Webb and Buderus leave we won't have much space to do anything much at all.

Yep. Agree with that, they should be standout players - like Webb was when we signed him. I think we need an impact forward off the bench to replace Ali. Someone who can make things happen and has good ball skills. I know it's not easy finding those types of players and signing Ali was unbeliveable good fortune (and good business). And we need a prop (I know another feckking prop, but we do), we needed one when we signed Cross and we still need one - especially as we have dumped Cross and Burgess already, loaned out Ambler and Amor and should now be realising Peacock, Kylie and TMFMISL are struggling with father time and losing badly.

| WRT to Kylie and Peacock I think comparisons with Carvell and Morley at Wire are interesting. Age doesn't seem to be an issue over there, I wonder what the difference could be?

Morley looks a shadow of the player he was last season and before.

Carvell is 2 years younger than Kylie.

In Carvell's case, probably the fact he's only 30.
Maybe Morley has looked after himself (and been better looked after by previous coaches who knew how to use him appropriately) than Peacock or Leuluai? Certainly will have helped that he spent such a large part of his NRL career sat in the stands suspended, cutting down on his workload.
Maybe he's more motivated, wanting to add another GF win to his list before he retires?

So you should - seldom do you get see a player of his quality refusing to let his standards and comitment drop - a pity some of his experienced team mates are unable to follow suit.
Even more the pity you keep bashing him - easier to have a go at him rather than criticise some of your favourite "local boys"!!

And you know how much I enjoy to kiss Sinfields booty, but I have to say with honesty I thought he was entirely to blame for the loss on Friday night. To make one or two incorrect decisions is completely understandable, but to constantly make take the wrong options was not great. Burrow was just typical Burrow to me, an absolute nothing since 2008 now found out constantly as the players around him are not as good.'"
Sinfield hasn't played well for weeks - he certainly isn't leading from the front. He through one hospital pass to JJB you could hear JJB when he got crunched - madness. Maybe that's Sinfield's way of getting selected!!

Hauraki and Buderus have contracts at Leeds for 2012, Webb, Leuluai and Lauitiiti don't (at least not yet announced if they do.)
The problem could be that Webb, Leuluai and Lauitiiti are settled and in the team while being off-quota and it's easier to retain an existing player than source a replacement.

I agree with your view of overseas players and that the Rhinos should focus on recruiting quality in those three areas. It looks like we've got Griffin as a prop, we appear to be interested in Heighington as a second row signing. Any suggestions of available quality centres in the NRL who would improve the team in 2012? Matt Cooper's name has been mentioned!

Lucky I got the thought down on paper before the Webb news officially broke today.
