I'd be very upset.
No, I wouldn't consider it a successful season.
Because Leeds would have been relegated.'"
Seems a daft question to me.

icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.:icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg |

| Why is it a daft question - other posters are suggesting winning one of the two trophies available is sufficient to justify a good season. All I have suggested is perhaps that winning a trophy isn't the only consideration

| The league form since the 13th round hw been relegation. It can hardly be surprising that we lost today and was another abject performance. What must have Hethrington scared stiff is the fact that their recents performances and the standard of rugby played is not an advt to renew your season ticket. Time for Hethington to either sack Mc D or insist he gets an attacking coach because in that aspect of the game he has proved himself devoid of ideas.

| I think what will irk GH more than anything is the fact that we wont be part of a money spinning match against an NRL side despite it expanding to 3 games on the back of his lobbying.

| What this means now is Mcdermott's days are numbered.
If we'd gone far in the playoffs there would have been credit in the bank for an iffy season next year.
But the ending to the season erodes away at the credit previous success will have given him. Remember we were only halfway through 2012 when GH was asking the question ''has this team run it's course?''. They won the GF, did nothing last season, won the CC this season but have had bottom of the table form in the league for months. They weren't saving themselves for the main event like we thought because there was nothing in the tank tonight and they crashed out against whipping boy rabble. Leeds just weren't good enough to whip the rabble and that's pretty damning.
When leeds crashed out in 2006 (quite a similiar performance to tonight) they hadn't won a trophy in 2 years but they had young key players who just hadn't completly become winners yet. Now the key men are getting old.
Mcdermott will have next season. If leeds don't make the playoffs he'll be moved on, and so will quite a few of the players.

| You can't play an attacking brand of rugby when you have the 2 slowest halves in the comp plus a coach who has no idea what attacking rugby is if it came up a slapped him in the face. I am willing to give him another year aslong as we get a number 2 in who knows how to coach said attacking rugby.

This is our worst league finishing position in 18 years and yet he is Leeds' most successful coach ever - now there's a paradox!

| He is our most successful coach ever as the players have managed to get him out the mess his dour style produces unfortunately they are not good enough to do it anymore.

He completely contradicts his statement made to the YEP when he came in, I'm sure TVOC has posted the link a few times.

| When someone is given a "job for life" as McDermott has been given by Mr No Personality Hetherington then the hunger and passion must die at least a little bit
The CC was a great run and IMHO our best games and hardest games in that comp were prior to the final but since then we have looked like a run of the mill veterans team playing Sunday mornings on the park with the odd exception like Ablet
It's time for change at the top and on the field

| I think Brian just has to flash the Challenge Cup in the faces of these 'know-it-all' critics who want him out.
A win at Wembley 100% masterminded by McDermott.

| Hasn't McDermott been sacked yet?
GH wants to increase season ticket sales next year, 10,000 he wants. He wants each current member to have a bash at introducing a friend. If McDermott stays he is going to fall way way short. Forget the cup, that is a different comp in terms of season ticket sales. Why should people buy a season ticket? To watch an immensely talented side be coached that badly they finish 5th or 6th, which ever way you look at it that is DIABOLICAL!!
Missing out on a playoff run, lost revenue from those season ticket sales & missing out on the World Club Challenge 3 club series will cancel out a successful trip to Wembley and then some.
Make my day GH, give the clown the boot.
