| its unnecessary. I dont agree with the those that still think smith should be given time for the reasons already stated but dont feel the need to insult. Its not just about results but the way we play is just backwards to not only supporters but pundits too. If smith really is a revolutionary of the game then evidence on the pitch doesnt demontrate that. I really hope the club are looking for someone else when the time is right. I dont dislike Rohan and i think he would be an asset in another role but not as head coach.

| Getting very much like the political landscape on here.
The spectrum gets wider and the views get more extreme.
Shame because in amongst all the anger and frustration is some interesting stuff.
Good to see you back contributing Chris.

Agree Simmo it has got a bit rowdy, makes me feel a bit like the great Steve McCroskey, “looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue”.

| Quote: Seth "I think most can hold mitigating factors alongside measured expectations and even accounting for that Smith has come up a long way short for a sustained period. Like having your first choice hand picked spine available for most games and then still looking like strangers. We can bemoan or rationalise the inability to recruit as needed in the pack but even when we do have Field position and momentum it's been awful end products more often than not. There's been plenty of opportunities for smith to demonstrate that we're going in the right direction despite mitigating factors but the things he can control are full of holes too.'"
Spine can't show what it can do without us being able to apply any pressure and control possession at all. Our error count is killing us (again). Also Frawley as part of that spine, and to a lesser extent the others, have at times been a big part of the error count.
I would agree with you in that RS recruited and coaches these players, and as a unit I don't think they're delivering. Having said that: Croft is real quality I'm a fan of his; he needs better support to show real form though. Ackers I'm reasonably happy with, he's consistent. Frawley is too rocks and diamonds for my liking; he doesn't offer enough on the good side to outweigh the kicking in particular. Miller... conundrum there; when he has space he's MOM candidate every game. Really like his skill level at the line. We need to stop him kicking though, it's not rocket science and that side infuriates me.

Not making your kicks drives me insane I have to say. He is solid in defence mostly, and he does have a decent ability to break the line here and there, he just has zero pace to capitalise on it. It's really hard to justify a slow half back.
I'm not seeing too much evidence that he's organising us where we need to be, and he is clearly low on confidence at the moment.

| Agreed. When we signed ally hoping he would be the organiser / kicker that we craved and Croft would be the garnish.
There's been some games when he's shown some flashes of brilliance but again in line with team its far too inconsistent.
Weve brought him in to do a job and respectfully, hes not cutting it.

Our performances have been far from perfect, but we are clearly very competitive in what has been the most competitive season ever. | Apparently Sinfield didn't play for Halifax in their win over the weekend due to a hamstring - hopefully that's not serious.
Those saying that Jack should have played instead of Frawley - I was at the game and they spotted that channel all night and sent Hurrell through it. Jack Sinfield would have come out as a human swiss cheese covered in stud marks, and we'd have had the line busted even more than we did IMO. Frawley just about held him. Sinfield missed 12 tackles the previous week? His D isn't up to SL just yet.
Stats-wise we look terrible but the stats are an interlinked system. We make errors (just lack of skill or composure under pressure), then the impact is that we lose territory and possession. We're losing the energy battle most games because we cannot apply any pressure, which has a spiral effect and means that we're doing it way tougher than we should be. Missed tackles go up etc etc. but much of it boils down to the errors for me, which is why I fundamentally don't think the squad is good enough.
This is not new, and it's not even a RS thing - it's been like this for years.
I suspect RS will keep his job over the next 4 games at least, unless we get some more bad results against lower opposition. Over that time we should get Mom, Fus, Holroyd back which won't hurt. How long they stay back is another matter.
This season feels done. The only thing we can really do is focus on 2025 now and try to put in place an approach which will significantly improve us again. Said it before but we absolutely need quality signings over quantity, literally 2-3 additions but we're crying out for quality. Coach position will take care of itself.
Things aren't as catastrophic as many on here seem to think, but fixing things up is more than just a new head coach. There is zero guarantee a new coach is going to improve Leeds, we've been here before many times.
If I was being draconian, I'd allow a fair few players to leave and replace with a new prop or two, new second row, replacement for Frawley. I think Miller and Mom will make it through but Miller needs to be used correctly and Mom needs to get and stay fit.

Sensible post and not just another 'RS OUT' reaction. 15 errors, lost count of penalties, lost count of missed tackles, that's not down to coaching that's the players responsibility. Definitely need some more quality and perhaps a 'stronger' (for want of a better word), Captain. Cam may put his heart and soul on the line but doesn't seem able to marshall/direct the troops around the field like Sinfield/McGuire used to do. Ah well, we go again this week ![Smile icon_smile.gif](images/smilies//icon_smile.gif) RTID !

| I think this next game against Cas is a big one. They have their tails up and always raise for us; we're going to have to show we are serious and win the game.
I dunno there is some merit in the argument that some of RS's ways put players in the position to make errors but I do think it's overplayed on here because people simply don't like RS.
You're right about a lack of direction on the field, but this is why Frawley was brought in by Smith and I can't see him pushing the side about - which he actually did in the first few games. I think his confidence is shot.
