Personally I fear Gale maybe gone by the end of the season on a free to Wakey or Salford.Hope not, but looks as though Austin was signed with the view of utility value since Jack Walker has missed the best part if 2 seasons. So are we sure he'll be the same player when and if he makes his come back.Here's hoping he does.

People keep misunderstanding this. The club has seen how devastating it's been with missing playmakers this year. They deliberately want to have three quality options there for 2022 so that we will be able to ride through injury and suspension. If Gale and Seizer are both fit that's great, Austin will perhaps find a place in the backline elsewhere. But given how 2021 has gone there's every chance we'll need him in the halves. And boy is he incentivised to play well to earn a proper contract for 2023 and beyond.

Not sure we would allow him to go on a free after paying a substantial fee for him.

If you want to split hairs the term "nomminal fee" may be used.Particularly if they want to get him off the salary cap.

He's club trained so the club can use the dispensation. We did if I recall correctly pay 150k for him. I have a feeling he'll ask for a move but I think the club will want more then a nomminal fee. May not get it in this current financial climate.

Don't wish him away. We need to keep our good players. Unless there really has been a cataclysmic fall out he will want to stay for reasons of both ambition and finances. Hope the management and players don't dwell on this stuff as long as the fans.

We do but my gut feeling is all stuff going on with Gale could be Austin related.I hope Gale stays but ive said before you pick your best side and play players in their best poistion and for mine Gale would miss out.

Maybe so, but I think we (the fans) really over analyise this stuff. Maybe it is exactly what the club say it is. Maybe they have addressed our patent lack of strength in depth at half through the signing of Austin and all is going to plan. For what it's worth my first choice half back combo for next year is definitely Gale and Sezer, but performances and form will ultimately decide that. And that is how it should be.
