| we are trying to fit players that are not up to scratch in key positions, walker is a good full back but is still learning and when he is out we have to pick golding as he is the next best defensively [ i'd even consider sutcliffe there as he did ok when required]
in the halves we simply do not have 2 players in the squad good enough to hold down the shirt in either position
would moving parcell or dwyer in at 6 or 7 makes us defend better and maybe partner one of those with ward when fit?
every team we play knows where to target, we are soft down the middle and really soft on goal line defence
while i can understand the furner out brigade its not down to him, he inherited a squad of players which are not up to scratch and we need to judge him at this stage next year once we have got rid of the dead wood and he has signed players he wants

| Just watched the highlights. Tui's effort for that first try is beyond embarrassing. He actually backs away from catching the ball and attempting to make a tackle. Get rid. So much work to do in terms of recruitment it's unreal and worrying. How has it come to this i wonder? Huge changes needed.

I agree, he stepped out way. But JJB effort in first two try’s is even more embarrassing.

| Lolohea was awful on that try. But the goal line defence is simply ridiculous. One barge over try every 4 or 5 games you can live with, but we're letting in often 2 or 3 a game.

| Salford outplayed,Warrington,Catalan and London all away.A team of players nobody rated a the start of the season, favourites for the drop.No players that left Salford while Watson has been in charge have exceled at other clubs. He got rid of Chase and Hock as soon as he was appointed to head coach restoring harmony to a workman like group of players who finished 4th in the league.Leeds players wages must be way above what Salford pay.Every player that puts on that red shirt give 100% for their coach.

Well said. Question is why don't the Leeds players give 100% for their coach..

| We have no genuine born leaders in the spine of the team. Someone with quality who can be seen as a general both on and off the pitch. There is no one on the pitch that the players can look to when in trouble against a team. We have no Sinfield, Peacock, Magsey etc, how anyone can call Watkins a Captain and leader is delusional, he's so out of form he shouldn't be in the team.
I am all for giving kids a chance, but they need to be in a team where there are leaders, someone to marshal them around the pitch, if not simply making changes for the sake of it will not make us a good team, because without leadership they will not succeed and we end up on here criticising the younger players. If anything for a decent pair of half backs with leadership skills

For all he has given to Leeds, it's now time to step away from playing. I'm not sure what the management think he actually contributes during a game, apart from filling a shirt.
Probably another season to write off, offload the trash and recruit some quality mixed in with the great youth that seems to be in the squad. I still don't understand why the club is in the predicament it is (i actually do understand but not sure how we have arrived here!)

| I think we all know how we got here, but like you say believing it is quite incredible.
Long way back from here due to the unqualified mismanagement in almost all positions of significance.

| The thing that I like about Salford is that they know what works for them and they go out and perform that game plan each week despite not having a playing rosta that they would necessarily choose if they had more money to spend.
They know that they will lose games, but that if all of their players play to the best of their abilities on game day that they will be good enough to pick up wins throughout the season
Ian Watson is a very good coach and he clearly knows how to get the best out of the squad he has at his disposal
There's clearly some easy lessons to be learnt here by the Rhinos in order to make us competitive in games
I posted this after the Rhinos got beat by London earlier in the season:
Quote: The Biffs Back "Everyone knows what changes need to be made at the club in order for us to be successful again and I fully agree with both Sir Kev and Dave Furner with regards to this moving forward long term

| In 20 years when we look back at the Golden Generation people will ask why it all collapsed, and the answer is the same as most successful teams that fade - hubris. One of the more interesting questions is how our success lasted as long as it did - from 2004 to 2017 is a hell of a long record of success, and perhaps helps explain why the fall has been so steep and potentially long-lasting.
