Soon we will be dancing the Fandango
FROM 2004,TO DO WHAT THIS CLUB'S DONE,IF THATS NOT GREATNESS THEN I DONT KNOW WHAT IS.

| I think Garbutt making his statement today instead of just saying happy to be at a great club etc is an indication of attitude . We missed him last season ,but hes left now and good luck to him .

| Lots of different opinions on here about why he has left, but most fans are in agreement on one thing. When he was on the pitch he was our best prop and we need someone to replace that go forward.

Yeah agree. Something not right with him. I 100% trust Kevs judgement on this

Difficult to take much away from that, other than the thinly veiled dig at the period when Sinfield took over. Perhaps it is as simple as Sinfield (and Furner) not seeing a future for Garbutt in their plans, especially given that he was taking up a valuable quota spot. Despite his stature on the pitch Garbutt doesn't give the impression of being a great trainer. McDermott jokingly singles Garbutt out in the 'As Good As It Gets' film, giving the impression that Garbutt struggled for motivation in training (perhaps I misinterpreted that comment, but it struck me as a bit odd when I watched it). Perhaps the new regime are looking for a better role-model to lead the pack?

That’s how I took the piece in the film as well.
As for his comments as you say it appears to be a dig either Sinfield or Hetherington for sacking McDermott. If it’s either that or the paternity leave issue then I don’t have much sympathy with Garbutt.

| I read his comments and don't think he said much at all to get upset about. He'll have his view of why he's gone and no doubt Sinfield, Furner and co have theirs. Doesn't really matter - he's gone and is an ex-player as far as I'm concerned, only of interest when we play KR.

| On the full eighty last week Jack Walker was asked what it was in training with Mitch - he replied don't know he never trained always made excuse why he wasn't fit to train.
Kind of says why Leeds let him go

Seems the club know what they’re doing, this is probably what Sinfield hinted at by the culture of the club that has been lost, if that’s true were well rid

That may be true but we still need a big metre making prop (at least one) as poor trainer or not, he made big yardage. Though he certainly wasn’t fit enough to make the match day squad on to many occasions

Is there a branch of Mrs Miggins Pie shop in Hull ? Important for his strict training regime.

| You guys will have seen a hell of a lot more of him than I have so I stand to be corrected, but I always thought he was at best bang average, terribly unfit, grossly overweight and was a lazy defender. He could carry the ball forward and carry defenders with him but he was slow and his PTB was slow so any advantage was lost.
He did manage to make me feel athletic and slim though so not all bad.
