| Quote: Andy Gilder "No need to take it outside the usual guidelines.
By grading it at Grade F, the RFL have given themselves carte blanche to impose whatever suspension they think fit.
Anyone remember what John Dalgreen got for kicking a grounded player in the head back in the 80s? Was the Danny Williams king hit one in the NRL 14 games?'"
Very much at the borders of my memory but wasn't the Dalgreen sine die for shoving a match official? There was a kicking incident in a test match between him and Les Boyd, but that was something separate.
The only sine die I can remember for foul play in the pro game was Gary Charlton, but that was eventually lifted.

| IIRC Newton got 10 for his offences on Long & Gilmour. Personally I think about 12-15 games would be about right.

Dalgreen pushed Gerry Kershaw after being sent off for stamping.

| Just mentioned elsewhere that Moriarty on Waddell at Headingley in the early 90s was prob the worst I've seen.

That was unpleasant.
He probably had to get a round in after the game as punishment.

I agree. Half a season on the sidelines sounds about right.Stick in some work in the community, coaching the youngsters etc....

| I'd probably say Cassidy on Morley was worse than Moriarty on Waddell, if only for the extra effort it took Cassidy to get to head height...

| Who was our hooker that Sonny Nickle attacked from behind?
And how many matches did Nickle get?

| Sonny Nickle was originally banned for six months, but this was changed to 9 matches upon appeal.

| I know I'm probably the only person who thinks this, but I'd still classify Westwood's punch last season as being the more serious and cowardly attack than what Flowers did.
Yes, Flowers was completely and utterly wrong for carrying on the attack when the guy was down and out. But all the damage was done to Hohaia when both were fighting and it was a fair one on one.
