Oh and I'd rather watch this great sport as it was meant to be played while reading about it in "backlands of half a column 8 pages in from the back page" than dilute it so it suits the masses.'"
Here bloody here! its amazing how the sky commentators attitudes have changed towards the rough stuff

| Quote: Tigerade "Luke Dorn's after match interview was spot on. Shocked that it was Sinny but these things happen in the heat of the moment. Probable 3 match ban - 2 at least.
Leeds will survive without him for spell - no doubt.
On another note - could Rhino's Vs Tigers now be [sizeTHE[/size West Yorkshire derby ?'"
Absolutely spot-on. He shouldn't have done it, we know that, Sinfield knows that, but in the heat of a collision sport it happens. His exemplary record should keep this to a 2-3 game stretch and after that it should be forgotten about.
As a Hull FC fan living in Leeds, I went last night. A great game in an incredible atmosphere and very friendly supporters from both sides.

| Looking at it on the big screen at the game it looks like Dorn has his leg wrapped round Sinfield`s leg in an attempt to win the penalty.
It happens in most games.
It appears Dorn is asking the ref to sin bin him (that`s according to SKY now)
Sinfield throws some verbals and walks towards Dorn in an aggresive manner again not like Sinfield to lose it.
I can only assume he thinks Dorn is going to go head to head and throws his forehead into Dorn`s face.
Sending off decision correct.
No damage done to Dorn more damage done to Sinfield`s pride.
3 game ban reduced to 2 on an EGP.

No it really wasn't. Have you even seen the incident?

He could have separated the players & acted as a peace maker or pushed the players apart but instead tried to throttle Dorn. I think you are forgetting that Dorn was the victim in all this after Sinfield cynically tried to slow the play of the ball down then deliberately head butted him. JP is also at fault in this altercation and his actions should have him up at the disciplinary panel too.

You seem more concerned with JP throwing his weight around than a headbutt. Get a grip.
Dorn was the victim of a headbutt (a headbutt in the loosest sense of one), but he was part of the reason there was an incident at all. So not blameless.

Can someone explain why JP shouldn't have made this kick? I have only played rugby a handful of times but did used to spend a fair bit of time when we had the rugby balls out drop-goaling them between the sticks and did so with relative ease.
Why is it that only one or two max per team are able to even try drop goals? They all have legs and do it for a job. As I say, I am crap at rugby, but can work the mechanics of dropping the ball out my hands, aiming at the sticks and kicking the ball through it.
I went a bit mental that he didn't make it. But then as a football player for 20 years am i being unsympathetic? Is the reality that actually drop-kicking a rugby ball IS a difficult thing to do..?

Did you ever try doing it after 70 plus minutes of playing prop at SL level with players running at you to charge it down? Especially when you wasn't expecting the ball?

Sinfield has probably done 10,000 kicks during games. Peacock around 10.
Peacock wasn't expecting the ball, he was taking a rest. And he was in such need of that rest that he didn't even realise he was standing in the perfect place to receive the ball for the kick. I don't actually blame Burrow (?) for passing it to him, I blame Peacock for being there.
Given that Peacock wasn't expecting the ball, virtually never kicks, never mind taking a drop goal, given that it was a possible match winning goal I've no problem with it being missed. I'd have expected Sinfield to knock it over from where he was, but I wouldn't have been overly surprised if he'd missed it as well.
