| Quote: Andy Gilder "Kirke and Leuluai went well last night, didn't they?
Was Walmsley even on the field?'"
Walmsley got injured early in his stint so, no, for the most part he wasn't on the field.
You also seemed to miss the "going forward" part of the post, which was the main point. But other than that, carry on.

See the coach decided that Singleton wasn't up to dealing with the pressure of knockout rugby. Did he get that call wrong again?'"
Yes he got that all massively wrong. Does a win really play with people's minds to that extent? It appeared a stupid decision before kick off and then was proven after 20 minutes of the game. Playing players unfit is a massive risk and we got through it luckily. Delaney on his haunches after 3 minutes and limping, and JJB having to leave the field on 20 minutes.

I love playing for him. I can't praise him enough, I've so much respect for him and I hope he's here for a very long time." Kevin Sinfield 29/9/12:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_68506.jpg |

Evening Gotcha - you're sounding pretty feisty for someone whose central theory (and many subordinate ones) is now in flames and over the next week may well have crashed and burned completely.
I recall you saying recently that your view of McDermott would never change. But would another Grand Final win not make any difference to you at all?

My theory? I have said all year we would win the grand final with one last hurrah from these players. As of now though, I don't. I think this clueless coach has flogged certain players too far, and nothing left for them.
I did say a few weeks back if McDermott did win it this year I would give him credit due to the injuries, even though I feel it is down to his selections. I don't think I will need to now though. Which is unfortunate for some truelly great players in that team.

| Re-signing Kylie was the right thing. This only re-surfaced after a poor overall performance against Warrington so last night's performance is just as relevant.
Kirke should not be selected based upon his perfrtmances, IMO, but it's hard to argue against his display last night.
The usual negative nellys are massively over reacting to Walmsley and Taylor both of whom have been outplayed by our pack this season.

Do you think leeds have enough left in the tank for 2 more big performances?

| I'm not sure. Leeds are so hard to call. I certainly wouldn't bet against them.
One thing that was pleasing was that they said they realised they had to work on winning the ruck after the Warrington game and they did exactly that. I'm not McDermott's biggest fan but he deserves some credit for fixing a few things this past week.
The injuries are mounting again but Singleton and Sutclffe is like money in the bank.
What the hell, heart over head, yes we can!

Time will tell. I do know that I won't write this team off as long as they're still in the competition.

I do...especially if Kirke can raise his game to that level again (amazing).
I still think it was a travesty for Singleton to be dropped.
However, I guess I can't blame the coach for selecting the team that he thinks still best offers the chance of winning yet another GF......even if it does mean running the continued risk of losing the 'future' forwards.....guess it's like politicans and their short termism. Let somebody else run the risk of losing votes by building the nuclear power stations and new London Thames Estuary airport
If you can continue to squeeze yet more success from this core of players for one more year that's all that really matters to any coach inc McDermott judged on the short term. McGuire too vindicated his selection.
When and if this coach loses his position it will be somebody else's job to handle the tricky transitional phase in rebuilding the pack. In the meantime he will revel in yet another GF success.

I like your confidence. Leeds did look pretty beaten up last night though. I remember after the qualifying semi against saints in 2007, that was one of the toughest super league games ever played. People said leeds were battered. But the players were much younger and weren't carrying as many knocks. They've had much tougher games in week 1 and 2 than the last 2 years and they are carrying more injuries.
You can never write them off but it's going to be a tall order.

It is....but still think this team can do it. (The Wolves team is just as old don't forget - if not older?). Get to the final and Leeds will win it.
If it doesn't do it then let the re-building begin for 2014; if the team does do it the re-building might just have to wait for yet another year.

Yep. No prob. Leeds have the measure of Wigan. Huddersfield will crumple if they make it to the final.

| I think we are a bit battered but wouldn't rule us out. It very much depends on what Warrington side shows up, if they're at A game level with passes and offloads sticking then it's going to be very tough.

| Next week is the important one. It's not really looking at it as two games. If Leeds reach final they will have it in them. Where I don't think they will have it in them is next week, too early, too battered.
I will be more confident if Delaney and JJB are out. Playing unfit players is a risk, and half fit these players are not as good as their replacements are.
