| Quote: G1 "Are we blaming Vickery for the Percival breaks? Because they were not his fault. The last one was on McGuire.'"
Indeed.
For the first try, Ablett gets done by the decoy run of Manu, and both McGuire and Sinfield are slow to adjust. Vickery gets left two or three on one. and stays on the outside man waiting for the cover to get across.
For the second, Vickery has to jump in to shut down Manu, who gets a really good offload away under pressure.
For the third, McGuire flies out of the line and gets made to look stupid by Percival's footwork.
We also seem to be ignoring Vickery's hand in which prevented an absolute certain try, I think at 4-2 in the first half?

| Leeds looked to me like a side who have targeted the four games starting with Melbourne and finishing with Wigan as a mini playoff series. High intensity in defence, particularly on their own line. Keeping the errors and high risk plays to a minimum.
Saints were undoubtedly weakened by the players they have lost, and the further disruption caused by Wheeler getting injured mid-game. They are asking a lot out of the limited Wilkin and relatively inexperienced Lomax at the moment.

| Yeah Andy but the breaks came down our right flank and so it MUST be Vickery's fault. It's too taxing for certain posters to look at what led to those breaks.

| Bit like the same posters who blamed Keith Senior every time teams made a break down the left hand side in his final season and a half.
I'm coming more to the conclusion that some people look at games rather than actually watch them.

Actually, McGuire was on the opposite side. I don't know if anyone noticed but Ablett was going crazy with McGuire after the Lomax try. On the PTB Ablett was trying to pull more men his side because we were short on the right, but McGuire was doing the same on the left for some reason, even though we looked good over there. The defenders drifted to the left leaving the right massively exposed. Ablett came rushing out of the line because of this trying to kill the move but messed it up, leaving Lomax with the overlap. It was a massive mix up in communication and that was the reason for the try.

Errrr ...an answer to the question as to why, under the exact same circumstances you convey, he is given priority over the acdamey lads who have been conversely waiting patiently for an opportunity to step up from playing in the lower divisions.
If he was an oustanding, exceptional talent then I could more fully understand his leapfrogging straight into the first team.

| I don't understand this argument that Saints were missing so many players and all will be well when they return, an argument that Hinge & Bracket on Sky must have made 20 times.
Unless I've missed something, Makinson, Gaskell and Flanagan are all fit but have been dropped, while according to Saints fans Hohaia, Perry and Wellens are all rubbish.
Meanwhile Leeds were missing Hardaker, BJB and Bailey, all of whom would have improved our run-on team.
Also, did Stevie Ward pick up a knock? Don't recall him coming out for the second half.

| Thought Clarkson went very well. Hitting big in the defensive line.
Probably helped by only been given nine minutes work last week in the warm-up fixture so a big well done to the coaching team for last week.

Credit Manu for the effort on that one to get his hand in and rip the arm away, can't say Kirke did a lot wrong in the way he tried to ground it.

| Kirke defended well and, this week at least, ran hard and won collisions. The near-try was only stopped by outstanding defence from Manu. Note that Kirke was put through by some very smart dummy-half work from McShane.
Thought Moore went well too, and agree that Clarkson again was good, and has remembered how to pass.

Did think Manu played a huge part in him not grounding it

I thought he made a hash of it. Kylie's was much more difficult to ground.

| With regards to Kirkes no try he regathers the ball and plays it back where the ST's player knocks it forward to his own man how did they get knock on by us from that play??
The ball doesn't hit the deck or anyone else until he spins and plays it backwards???
