| Quote: Serge A. Storms "I was actually and I can think off three serious chances - Senior's ankle tap in the second half, Donald failure to catch Sinfields kick in the second half, and the ankle tap on Burrow in the first half - if they had been converted we would have won easily so yes we had more than enough ball to win.
This excludes the 3/4 times we passed the ball straight into touch well inside your half.
The question is were you at the game?
We lost because our offence was really poor as was our discipline - we had sufficient quality possession to win - the best team won on the day - the score at half time didn't reflect the pattern of play - Wakefield should have been much further in front'"
That sounds a good summation to me. What about the Eastwood supported break as well in the second half?
Vastman - have you seen the stats yet? When tvoc posts them, you might be surprised and, as such, just be careful what you post. Wakey played well and were good for a good win, don't do yourself down out of a good defensive effort and forcing the errors that are mentioned above.

I was just going to post that no doubt this thread will run all night when he comes back to post, and Danny starts playing with him again.

But to the same extent, you could factor in:Latus dropped ball when over the line,a last gasp tackle to deny Morton and Mortons failure to catch the kick from Brough.

No one is arguing that you did not have sufficient possession to win and of course you bombed some chances as well, most noticeably the dropped ball over the line, and you did win remember!

Course you miss him - he used to wear Rhino's pyjamas to got to bed in, he was so biased towards you! That game at BV a couple of years ago when he single-handedly won you the match was a disgrace - he never dared ref at BV again after that! Best thing the little gobe did, going back to Oz!!

| As Jean de la Bruyere famously said,'Two quite opposite qualities equally bias our minds - habits and novelty'. In your case it's the habit of intimidating ref's to get them on your side and the novelty of being brought to book for trying it once too often! One thing I love about RL, being a convert from the round-ball game, is the authority of, and respect for, the ref from the players. Over the last few years this is sliding, and the worst culprits are Sinfield, who at least has the excuse of being captain, McGuire and various other members of the Leeds squad. They, and players from other teams, could do worse than emulate your very own Rob Burrow, who just gets his head down and gets on with it.
As fans, we pay good money and should be able to voice opinion (biased or not). As professionals they should know better.

Your level of blinkeredness is a wind up! all teams do it, saints, hull fc, Warrington (breirs on one knee anyone) spring to mind right away. If sinfield refs the games he's rubbish at it as I think we only won about 3 maybe 4 pen counts last season

The Lee Briers innocent look when he gets caught by the ref is the funniest. He is a worse actor than anyone in hollyoaks!

TRANSLATION: Even though I’ve wrapped it in eloquent prose I still have the same small town club mentality/inferiority complex that all Wakefield fans have and even though we have won I still have the need to gloat.

You're right, Tickle, Briers, Wellens are all trying to match Sinfield's gob, but don't have the back-up from the rest of the team that Sinfield does.

No inferiority complex here - to me every win is precious and to be enjoyed not as a divine right but as the reward of honest endeavour. And I'm not gloating either, as I know this is an early season game and that's the best time to play the big teams, before they've settled into their stride. What galls me is the fact that Rhino's fans can't just say 'Well done, the best team won' - and that is almost unique in RL in my experience, HKR being the other lot. As a Wakey fan I've spoken to fans from every other SL club at home and away matches after both defeats and victories, and have to say that Rhinos are the most arrogant and obnoxious fans in SL, along with HKR. We beat you fair and square, in an entertaining match in which (for the first time I can ever recall) we sussed the ref and played to his rules better than the opposition did!

Get a grip, for Gods sake! Try and understand what I'm saying, not what you think I'm saying! If defeat makes you so bilious, you really should think twice about watching professional sport and take up knitting or jigsaws instead!

Right – if you bothered to read one of the several thousand threads about yesterdays game you will have noticed that I have congratulated your well deserved win – so roll you fekking neck in.
Mine (and probably several others) reaction to you is one of “God, not another jumped up Wakey fan rubbing it in”.
You are just one of many Trinity fans who has taken it upon themselves to roll over hear to post “your opinion”. Now rewind to last year when we steam-rollered you and go see how many of us started gloating threads on your board???
Small town mentality shining through here matey.
