The difference between being pushed and dragged towards a sideline could be a split second as the forces act against each other.
There is nothing to be gained by over-complicating the referees job and I'd hate for League to end up like Union where the only person who has a clue what's going on in the referee's mind is the man with the whistle.
It'd be nice for the fans (all bias aside) to be able to appreciate and validate the rulings for themselves.
