A dog is for Christmas!: |

You have NO ONE! You might have some good talents but no one near enough ready.
And FWIW. you cant just release Bailey because you feel like it, his got a contract and there is a salary cap in place. If Bailey does not improve (which he wont) he will not be getting a new contract at Leeds.'"
I think you need to take a bat to your PC to save you from further embarrassment.

I didn't say they would release Bailey. But he's been a Leeds first teamer for about 7 years now. Do you think he signed a 10 year contract on his 17th Birthday?
AFAIK, he signed a new contract last year. So McLennan was in charge and obviously felt he was someone he wanted in his squad. If Leeds had any reservations about him, they wouldn't have used space on the cap up on him for the next couple of years would they
You're embarrassing yourself

Opposition fans hate him. We get it. That's an added bonus with Bailey.
Do you really think he gets in the team because we've no other option? Really? Are you that stupid?
We've retained him and let the following players go, Dowes, Ward, Scruton and Carvell. Those four are decent props but none are better than Bailey who we retained in preference. Before you respond "they are all better" they're not. Not in my opinion or the opinion of the people responsible for building and coaching our team and they have, after all, built a pretty decent one.
BTW, thanks for talking about props produced by our Academy. I just named 4, 2 of which have played for GB (as has Bailey). Two of your recent front row servants came from our Academy.
Just what do you know about the players in our Academy?

Yeah right!
Bailey offers you nothing in attack and is cheap shot merchant in defence!

Some good points but it could also been seen as bad judgement by your coaching staff. As Carvell, Dowes and Scruton are all better than Bailey.
Dident Carvell and Dowes want first team rugby as they was just breaking onto the scene also dident Dowes go on loan at first to Hull and he really impressed ? and im positive Scruton went for the money ?

| How many times have Ward Carvell Dowes and Scruton been capped by GB between them?
Opinions are subjective. Here are the facts. Leeds had all those players I named on their books. They released them or didn't retain them.
They retained Bailey. In doing so, they've won 3 of the last 5 Grand finals. Those players released have won exactly how many?

Thats because of the other players you have in your team. So your telling me that Bailey actually made a difference in all them finals? Except making himself look like a complete idiot. I can't believe someone is actually defending Ryan Bailey! Pmsl

| Bailey gets in the team week after week and has done so for the last 4 or 5 years. Now if they were simply playing him because there was no one else I think it might have been sorted out before now.

Bryn Hargreaves was retained over Nick Fozzard this year. That does not make Hargreaves a better player. Circumstances play a big part when contracts are given. Dowes was rated very highly at Leeds. It could of been the fact Leeds where offering less years and money.
Same with Sruton, im sure he left rather than you releasing him. He wanted more money.
Bailey as won things playing in a better team. Just like Hargreaves as won many things at Saints. This doesent make Hargreaves a better player than the likes of Dowes just because his got a few winners medals.

Leeds retained Bailey in preference to Ward, Scruton, Carvell and Dowes. Leeds judgment should be trusted on this because of the success they've enjoyed.
You don't rate Bailey. I get it. I do.
Nowt to get excited about. Your ill informed opinion won't remove him from the Leeds team just like the inferior talents of your "favourites", Dowes Thackray and Carvell couldn't.

| Quote: Ashmeister " Dowes was rated very highly at Leeds. '" No he wasn't. I must admit he's done much better than I thought he was since we let him go but he's still not as good as Bailey. IMO, of course. And the opinion of the Leeds management. And the opinion of the GB selectors.

'" It could have been. It could not have been. Speculate all you like. If Leeds seriously rated those players ahead of Bailey they'd still be here. They're not. He is.

| Just looking at stats. It seems Scruton, Dowes and Carvell all make more hit ups and metres but less tackles (Bailey is often 3rd man in) and tackle busts.

I just don't see what you and other people see in Bailey? Anyways, Glad he's at Leeds rather than Hull...

We could have kept Thackray but couldn't afford the bar tab.
