You are correct, but only partly, in the early seventies it was as described by Mr Pidbar-Smith, I got my first car around '75 and the numbers were still 33 etc at that time, after that I never caught another bus again until earlier this year when I found that you had to get on at the front - how strange.
AAAAAAAGH!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M DISCUSSING BUS ROUTE NUMBERS !!!

I bet it was the conductor's day off too and you had to pay the driver?

I walked straight past the driver and sat down - he had to stop the bus and come and collect my fare

I stand corrected - I was sure it was the 93 by 78/9 but then again I’m finding it hard to remember where I put the garage keys last night let alone what a bus number was 30 years ago.

Me too.
In fact, I would have been there when that picture was taken - March 1963 - in the middle of a traumatic first year.
When it was announced it was being demolished I wrote to Jim'll Fix It asking to be allowed to depress the plunger but he didn't get back to me.

John Craven - the jumper sporting kiddies news-reader and Country File host also went there.

Apparently copies of his school reports got buried with the rubble.

My office is now behind that building.

No honestly, I never did and you can't prove it either, not by using my real name anyway.

Indeed. Anyone of my generation seeing [iThe History Boys[/i will have recognised many of the characters even though Bennett has always denied basing the play upon his old school.
