| Quote: christopher "Myler has taken a lot of flack, even Agar has admitted as much but he is a hard worker and I think he has a good attitude, I'm not overly fussed if he decides to see out his contract but I suspect he will try get a decent 3 year deal from another club, either the promoted club or Hull KR.
He has never been an organising half throughout his career so it's a bit unfair to have a go at him for not fulfilling that role'"
I totally agree with this. We have exactly the player we signed, he was never going to suddenly be a great organiser.
Out of interest, and due to a lack of memory, did we sign Myler to play with Mags or was it already known Mags was going? It would make sense if we had signed him to play with Mags who would have done the organising.

Agree with this, he is game in defence but I don't think 9 is his position by any stretch, and I'd be amazed if he wanted to play 9.
Brian Mac signed him for Leeds, maybe Toronto would be a bet, or Fev. His experience would count with a side coming up into SL - he's a good character and has tried hard at Leeds, no dramas there. I just don't think he's a good enough player for an ambitious Leeds.

| Myler would have been fine alongside a hastings or McGuire. Problem is we needed him to be the leader not the support act. That was compounded by partnering him with Lolohea, who's even less of a leading half.
I don't know how you can play halfback for a decade and not have any kind of kicking game though....

Agar is not a fan, it's obvious.

| Feel a bit sorry for Richie because he seems a nice bloke and is committed, but it's one of those where he's had enough chance to show what he can do, and it's not going to take the side forward from this point.
I hope he gets a good club in SL or Champ because he'd do well for someone else I'm sure.
What I will say is well done to the club for grasping the nettle on this one again - both halves have had the axe this year. They're not sitting back and ducking the hard decisions.

| We can all now feel sorry for Richie and make reasons for this move but ultimately the half backs over the last couple of seasons have been dreadful and it needed changing. We couldnt go into next season with the same pairing.
Myler is simply not good enough for Leeds.
He is a nice bloke and theres been no shortage of effort from him but his kicking game, and general play was sadly lacking.
Now lets hope Gale can stay fit and gets the ball when and where he wants it and can get us moving forward. Lui and Gale are better than we had last season in my opinion but only time will tell.

| Two options here. Myler can stay, and maybe alongside gale may be able to focus on the stuff he's good at, rather than play making.
The alternative is that he leaves. In that case, McClelland is back up and will get chances to shine over the season.
I think with a different partner myler could come good, but I doubt we have signed Lui if we weren't planning to use him long term.

| Whilst I think many recognise that RM isn’t the half we need to get us back challenging, his effort has regularly been higher than most of his colleagues. I’d like to thank him for that.
The levels of expectation of him when he joined we probably unrealistic, he was trying to fill the shoes of an all thine great, and his skillset didn’t really match the needs. That’s not his fault, it’s the fault of those who signed him.
If he stays he will probably drop down the pecking order, whereas he could leave and be first choice elsewhere. It’s up to him, and I wish him luck whatever he chooses.

You’re right that it was the fault of those who signed him, can’t really fault his effort and commitment.
I was really annoyed when we did sign him, because it was symptomatic of the club’s attitude at the time.
Most of the signings we have made under KS (in terms of the longer term ones rather than stop-gaps) have been more like it. Mellor is an unknown - he looks solid and brings more athleticism to the pack, but it will be interesting to see what value he brings at Leeds.
Ava, Martin, Gale I’m pretty happy with. Lui is extremely skilful and I’ll reserve judgement until next season. McLelland was a good shout too by the looks.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we lost Merrin and gained Prior.
We have a few more players to leave, I think including Myler, in the off-season and quite a few more next year to complete the transformation project and as more Academy lads graduate.

| There was a pretty big clue in what Agar said yesterday. Something like, I don’t mind if we sign a couple more 30yo’s. Basically saying we need experienced leaders to bring the kids through with the right habits and attitudes.

That's the age we should be looking at and not project players. An experience nine and prop could do wonders for this team.

I thought Agar spoke really well at the presser yesterday, open and honest. I agree with maybe signing a couple more experienced players, if it means the promising young lads we have, get the guidance and experience they need.

| Myler probably played only a handful of decent games since he has been with us.
Funny how Lolohea who was made a scapegoat when he played alongside Myler is now looking like a decent player with his short kicking game and passing.
Who was Myler`s half back partner when he played for Catalan btw?
