Don't remember anything catastrophic happening when Iestyn Harris won it.

| Right choice if correct. Ok JP ran his blood to water at times this year but equally Brough has done the same if not more in terms of controlling Hudds attack and kicking for them. With that and the fact they won LLS only fair he should pick it up!

| Probably fair over the course of the year. Could maks a good case for Brough or JP, both of whom dragged their teams around the park pretty well by different means.
Pity Mr Brough was so quick to take his bat and ball home over his England selection really.

He didn't take them home. His bat and ball was confiscated by a clueless idiot.

| I don't think that there is any doubt that Brough has been the MVP in the league, he's captained the Giants to their best ever season since I don't know when, broken their all time goal kicking & points scoring records.
BUT we get bogged down in the title - Man of Steel - suggests the hardest/most durable player which arguably is Peacock.

I stopped that line of thinking when Robbie Paul won it.

| I bet Stephen Jones and the rest of the Union boys on The Times sports desk are allowing themselves a rare old chuckle on breaching the embargo and publishing the name of the winner in advance.

| Yeah it's just the best player of the year these days. Isn't about a big tough guy doing loads of big tough guy stuff and stuff.

Rubbish. He wasn't picked as the likes of Myler and Chase were deemed a better option and there were lingering question marks about his attitude. So, like a good pro he set out to win the coach over and fight for a place.
What?
He didn't?
Chucked a strop and withdrew his eligibility?
Proved people doubting his attitude well wrong. Good lad. If he hadn't he'd almost certainly be playing in the world cup for the country of his birth and his lifelong residence. As I see it both parties have lost out.

| Brough did the understandable thing after being snubbed by McNamara. Not that I think he should have ever thrown his hat into that ring (if he even did) having represented Scotland in the 2008 World Cup.

| Will never be convinced about Brough. Great player when things are going his way & his pack dominates, but a liability when not. Then again that's what I used to think about Shaun Edwards.......

| I think he's deserved it. When you watch their games he's been the one that has made them tick with his kicking and broken field running. He's been thr driving force behind their improvement.
