To be fair, I doubt many people would suggest Tomkins as captain. He iosn't really that sort of character. Leave him to do what he does best. Leadership is not a helpful responsibility for more off-the-cuff players in my view.

But when? He's 32 now, which is supposed to be the back end of a career, and he's just had two seasons where the only other game that he could have played was the 2011 WCC, which we didn't qualify for. If it was going to be a dramatic catching up scenario, I'd have expected it to show by now. |
