| We need Danny back on the wing, where he attacks and defends. What we really need is someone who is statistically better than both combined. I can't think of anyone off the top of my head.....

| Like Pat Richards last week, Id expect both to have one or two games in the U20s before appearing in the senior team.

| I know recently Diskin said it took him 2 seasons to recover fully from his serious knee operation.
I'm not so worried about Peacock but the way Danny plays it's a lot of swivelling/stepping direction at pace which could take time to feel confident in doing again.
He was awesome last season and seemed to have got a lot of the pace back that he seemed to lose a bit when he had his 12-18 months or so of hamstring or was it shin splints problems?

I actually thought he'd developed his overall game really well, to compensate for the pace that he's clearly never regained IMO. He aint slow by any stretch but he hasn't quite got the pace of his youth anymore.

| I think Peacock will have actually benefitted in some ways from the enforced rest. As long as the knee has recovered reasonably well I think we should get a guy back who can do the business.
McGuire, I'm not so sure about. It's not his out and out pace that does the damage, it's his willingness to aways be ready to get involved and his mental awareness of the game. His timing and workrate (on and off the ball) was phenomenal. When you aren't fit that's more difficult to maintain.
Fingers crossed though, we could do with a bit of luck.

Totally agree. JP would have benefited for the break. With JP its all about his ability to hit the lines, he knows where to be and where to run - his knee won't stop that.
McGuire is the one who we should be worried about. Like JP he has natural talent stored upstairs but in order to use them he relys on explosive darts of pace and acute reflexes, these might not come back. He is not a Stacey Jones, Matt Orford and to some extent a Briers type player just yet, he is not the little general that the older half backs have to adapt to been in order to carry on playing at the top level - McGuires work is purely step and pace.

| Yeah that Rochdale defence is a real bitch isn't it...
17 tries against Wigan and 16 against St Helens is impressive.

Agree in principal, dont see Peacock as being a issue, but might be more worried for danny, Hopefully he will be fine and eventually get back to his best. I personally think that even if he loses pace, step etc.. which i dont think will happen, he is a smart enough player to addapt his game and still be a important player for us.

Certainly seems to be the case with Watkins.
